Came here from early 2010's Pewdiepie, still a funny, eerie game. However good freaking luck tryna figure out where to go and what to do in this game without a guide lol.

While there are a good few puzzles whose solutions nobody would reasonably be able to figure out on their own, and it has overall been far outclassed in both narrative and mechanics by many of the games it paved the way for, there is still a unique kind of charm to both the goofiness and simplicity of the original "Ao Oni", which in addition to some really inventive puzzles, make for a game that any fan of the genre should definitely experience for themselves. (7/10).

Very nostalgic game for me. I used to watch CoryxKenshin play this game back in 2014. I loved how they decided to add the game onto steam since it's a hassle to play the game the old way. the polished graphics also make the game more easier to look at. 10/10

i played the original version many years ago, so the nostalgia is strong with this one. i thought the fresh polish was a nice touch. though i do miss the goofy easter eggs. the extra chapter, albeit short, was also very fun. the randomized rooms help keep it from getting boring. i will say that i agree with others that you should only buy it when it’s on sale. the price is a bit too high for what you get. but either way it’s a fun game.

This game is still a classic and it's amazing to see it with such a nice modern polish. Though my favourite version of the game still remains one of the earlier builds, this is a nice final version of this classic. I like the polished map, portraits an item images and the games plays smoother than its ever had before. The only thing I don't fancy is the character sprite as they seem a little too catroonish for the rest of the style. Anyways play this game and support the dev. It's a great version of an old classic.
