This game is subnautica, reimagined, in space. That was clearly the goal it set out to accomplish, and if you ask me, it's done so with flying colors. They've made a game very similar to one we all hold near and dear feel like a new experience. Still pretty early in development, only like 15ish hours of gameplay (to complete like *everything* you possibly can, other than just building a ton if that suits your fancy) but we're on the cusp of a huge update that promises to add triple the content currently in the game. For a solo dev (with some specialist help) project, it's great. I've enjoyed my time playing it and look forward to the future. For now, 8/10, but it most certainly has potential to be a 10/10.

As a scifi author I am one of many who have said before: "I wish there was a 'Subnautica in space' game." This is So much that! Completely fills that vibe. There is the expected hustle to simply survive. Suffocating from lack of air is a thing in this game, and for a couple of hours I was focused completely on learning and gathering to simply not die yet. Then, of course, as a good survival builder should, it "forces" you to build and grind mats and thus beat the pending doom of mere survival. I'm not sure if there is a setting for harder play/replay, but there should be, with less mats near the start location. Once you figure it out its actually pretty generous. To get to that next level though, there is a risk vs reward system in place. All the good gear, base, and vehicle upgrades and story progressions are behind harder and farther locations where your precious air might not make it... and boom: Enemies will wreck your plans! There is a great sense of pending doom and horror, and competent enemies who will ruin your day and force you to grind elsewhere to gear up better to recover your corpse runs. Once you learn the battle strategies for beating them, yeah, its not so hard. But that's the point. You have to gear, engage, and fight better because these aren't paper tigers. This is pretty awesome! Beautiful vistas and intriguing story. Honest Review mode requires noting this is not a deep game. I am almost finished at the starter location with 20 hours. Only one thing (far as I know) to unlock to hop to another zone. So no, its not too deep or repeatable. Yet. Does this deserve our support to help them finish for launch? Absolute yes! Please tell your friends about it, with the caveat that it seems maybe 20 hours of playable story content for now and then needs further development of more play zones. ETA in the months plural and likely years of development before completion of their many great plans and schemes. Meanwhile you can build some really amazing space habitats! It's a 2 man studio. That's a personal love project and I'm impressed how good! Just now to learn it's from 2 ppl! Wow. I'm sure they are wisely investing our $ from early access and doing exactly what they said they would do: Continue developing depth of content for eventual release. I'm sure the Dev team appreciates our support to turn their love project into a finished project. I'm all in! If you like the state of it as is for now, please join me in at least a positive review of thumbs up or + rating for them. Rally at the jump gate, survivors!

like breathedge without the constant incessant jabbering narrative trying to be funny. Would i recommend this game? yes but not in its early state achievements are currently buggy and there just isn't enough content to warrant the price. Give it a bit of time to become polished and it will scratch that Subnautica itch.

This game is a lot like Subnautica, and also has bits from Planet Crafter and Astro Colony. While not being a masterpiece like Subnautica was, It has a unique storyline and is a decent game.
