Dec. 2025
I started playing this game on my PC thinking it was a light story since the game was only 5$ just for me to look up a walk through because i got lost early in my play through. To my surprise every walk through i saw on YouTube had this game clocking into 24 hours or more. Which after i googled the average run time for this game, it clocked in at about 20 to 24 hours to beat the main game not counting extra missions. So for 5 bucks this game is a major go. I did finish the whole game through game hub since i was going out of town for a week, anyways here's my review. It's a Action RPG with a anime like theme. Combat is good could use some more polish but it's does the job, i love the Anime like attacks both are protagonist and antagonist do. With Fire balls straight out of Naruto and Over the top ground slams, hell in the first boss battle we do Dragon Ball Inspired beam clash. So yeah this game definitely wears it's inspiration on it's sleeve. I will say i wish the game conveyed where you needed to go to progress better as i said i need to look up walk through early in my play through because i couldn't for the life of my find who i needed to talk to progress farther into the game even with the GPS system the game provides it's still hard to find what you need to do sometimes. The music is good with calming themes for the towns and thrilling battle tracks so it gets it right there as well. Graphics while going for a hand drawn look and i love the character designs in this game, i can't help but say this does look kinda like a flash game and that's fine because graphics are not everything and game play trumps all and it most definitely succeeds in that department. The story is written like a typical Shonen jump battle anime with are to protagonist King Enzo and Queen Erine go off to save there people from the big bad kinda cheesy but it has it's charm i won't spoil it for you. I will say it's a shame you only get to control Enzo and not Erine the whole time since she so heavily featured in the marketing the girl is basically a glorified item in battle. Thank god she well written though that's one thing that had me worried was that Erine would fall under the useless female teammate role you find in so many other anime cough cough Sakura but no she's has her own character arcs and while yes i stand by my stance that she is a glorified item in battle, she is one of if not THE most powerful thing in your arsenal. The game only has 1 ending so not much replay ability there but it's still and great ending though. Overall Score 6.5/10. Final Grade 65/100. [Game Play = 15/20. Graphics = 12/20. Story = 18/20 Music. 15/20. Replayability = 5/20.]

The game felt great overall but gets held back by some glitches and crashes. The music and story are amazing and it is always great to see an African fantasy setting in games. For the gameplay it felt serviceable. At first I tried playing the game like a Beat Em Up/ Character Action game and looked for heavy combos. But the game felt more like an RPG where you use skills, hit enemy weaknesses, and do basic crowd control. It felt stale at the beginning but once you get to the part where you can fuse your Legacies, that's when the gameplay and the story started to get interesting. The best strategy was to just charge your AP and spam special moves. This made the battles where you fight lots of enemies fun but the boss battles were more lacking. I ended up cheesing the final boss by just hitting him on wakeup with Pirogue Strike. The one negative point that holds the game back is just the bugs and crashing that happens while you play. If change audio like unplugging your headphones, all the audio except the music will stop playing forcing you to close the game it fix it. Sometimes the game will slow down to like 5fps and potentially crash. It happens if there are alot of enemies or when changing areas. In the first of the final battles where you fight the onslaught of enemies my game would either slow down or crash. It took me like 4 tries before I was able to get past that first area. Luckily the game has an good autosave but it is still annoying. The game also has some random glitches, most of them minor but the one I remember is in the underwater section in Jenere Lituba. When you beat the 3 mermaids, the game teleports you into the spinning axe, where you can't move/heal and end up dying. I was only able to get past it after mashing the pause button and finally getting out the way. These issues don't make the game unplayable but definitely lower the quality of the game. I liked that the story showcased African culture while tackling past and contemporary issues within a fantasy setting. I also like how the final battle wasn't a massive spectacle but fit into the setting of a much bigger conflict. While the game is great and above average on its own, the bugs can make it feel below average at times. Its a bit hard to recommend but if you want to play a African fantasy game its a solid option.

I think that steam needs a neutral option for this game. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is an okay game. It isn't bad, but it isnt great. Some issues is that A. the game looks like shit. Not like graphically but the fact that every image looks incredibly compressed. Now the gameplay is interesting, it isn't half-bad! I believe this game is a decent game, some major flaws, but what gives? It's a decent game!

This game is awesome. There is more to it than I thought, and I'm enjoying the learning curve so far. Music and art is really nice. Combat is fun. An underappreciated hidden gem on Steam.

I love this game. It has so much heart in it, from the graphics to the (stellar!) story and dialogue. Good music, and again, just a stunning tale that was told. You can tell there was a lot of love poured into the combat animations, too. Super impressed and would love to see more from these devs/their corner of the world. Some of the more critical details: Sometimes there were graphical artifacts, small gameplay issues, and performance would lower when having the game open for too long. Also keep in mind that the aesthetics and resolution are more reminiscent of 2000's PC games rather than modern graphics- you'll enjoy the game much more if you let it be itself and not expect it to look modern. For completionists, I believe some of the achievements are bugged; still, managed to get all but two (due to bugs). Regardless, as said before, I found this game worth playing and I'm glad it gets to tell its story.
