I've only dabbled with VR over the last couple of years but this is my second favourite VR experience so far after Half Life Alyx. The space battles look great and the battles are challenging enough to keep you on your toes. I lost my entire fleet at one point during the campaign but enjoyed rebuilding it and trying out different types of ships, weapons and equipment.
The first game was an excellent experience, with the 3D Holomap being a major highlight. However, I feel the warp mechanics—both for solo flights and fleet maneuvers—could benefit from a more impactful "wow factor." Incorporating a system similar to EVE Online would greatly enhance the sense of scale and visual immersion.
