Would highly recommend despite my generally bad experience with metroidvanias. The story is enough to get you going forward through the enemies, the fights seem very packed when going first time through the area, but due to the "single-use mini-arenas" mechanic backtracking to newly opening areas feels light and adventureous rather than cumbersome. The bosses deserve a separate mention, as they really find that balance between being too hard to beat and easy-peasy, so that you get killed a few times but it really just powers you to go back and get them in the end.

It's kinda decent. Distinct style. Alright platforming. Mostly on the easier side, apart from a few end game bosses and platforming challenges. Combat a bit weak, but passable. Not a whole lot of a story, but a lot of character. Got lost a couple of times, but figured it out. The game tries to be helpful by providing a list of things to collect in each biome and automatically marking various doors and mechanisms you can't operate until later. Really appreciate that. But then this is also the feature that's been glitching out the most, leaving marks for doors I opened and chests I looted. Not getting every collectible didn't prevent me from getting all achievements though.

This game is awesome if you like Metroidvania genre and with the multiple musical references you get during the quest, it clearly means this was made for us people in their 30s/40s with lower gaming skills who would still enjoy a challenge. If you are in your 20s, you will enjoy it too but you won't catch the references unless you are cool. Pros: - Nice graphics, very fluid. - Lots of senseless violence (OK only in video games). - Not too hard but not too easy. I got lucky beating some of the bosses even though they all have patterns. - Nice system of skills and upgrades. Cons: - Fight not always on points, when there's a lot of enemies it could get confusing a bit. - Parry system is not working unless you are a cyborg (I 100% the game without using it so it's not a game breaker). - Chubby but would do. 8.5/10

I did end up beating the game. It’s not the best platformer I have ever played but I did enjoy it. Has cool art. Has challenges that make you repeat until you nail it perfect. I am a big fan of upgrading and unlocking, so that’s cool. But my favorite part was the Easter eggs. One example, there is a sign on a building with a tiny BILL CYPHER from gravity falls. What I didn’t like is you can’t upgrade and max everything, you have to choose a certain amount. I’ll give it a B, and will buy the sequel when it comes out.

A big adventure all in one gulp. a Metroidvania made with love a bit irreverent that leaves you open-mouthed for the ambience, the enemy, weapons and attacks variety, customization and powerups it gives you. Some map bugs but nothing that hinders getting all game's achievement (besides missing breaking some robot "cameras" that is not linked to any achievement). Really recommended for everyone that loves the genre. Una grande avventura tutta d'un fiato. Un metroidvania coi fiocchi un po' irriverente che lascia a bocca aperta per le ambientazioni, la varietà di nemici, di armi e attacchi, la personalizzazione e i potenziamenti che presenta. Qualche bug nella mappa ma nulla che impedisce di completare il gioco con tutti gli achievement (solo distruggere qualche "camera" robot mancherà ma nulla collegato ad achievement). Straconsigliato per tutti gli amanti del genere!
