Visually and gameplay-wise this game still holds up very well today. Effects, textures and models all look sharp and the gameplay feels fluid and tactile. My advice is to get this instead of buying the more expensive remaster. you wont have any complaints running this on the highest settings and the only thing that the remaster provides is a multiplayer experience that isnt totally dead (yet)

Strongly recommended. One of the best FPS i've ever played. Pros: - Good Graphics - Good story - Good gameplay - 2 different play style, Stealth and Loud - Many different weapons - Can upgrade suit - Unlimited save slots Cons: - Don't have "Restart from checkoint" and "Restart mission" in the game pause menu like COD does. - There is no final boss. - No NG+ - No Cloud Save - Campaign can be finish under 10 hours. Note: The suit is improvement after Crysis 1. In C1 you have max strength and max speed. But now str is auto and speed is put into sprint. So you have access to Cloak and Max Armor. If you love it, try the sequel Crysis 3 or Crysis 3 Remastered.

It’s hard not to miss the more open ended approach of the first game, and the nerfed abilities make the shift even more noticeable. This one takes a more grounded approach in its narrative, gameplay, and environmental design. It’s without a doubt “consolized,” but that’s not necessarily a bad thing it’s just a bit jarring coming straight from the first. That said, the improved alien design is a huge plus. In the first game, they felt more like a nuisance than anything truly threatening, but here they’re faster, more aggressive, and actually intimidating. I genuinely enjoy fighting them this time around. Visually, it still holds up incredibly well it impressed me then and it still does now, which says a lot. Overall its just a good game, I miss the format of older games a short but fun campaign and solid multiplayer to go with it, not a year investement, a list of to do chores, and stringing me along with predatory market practices.

Well. After watching my brother beat this on the Xbox 360(yes...he played it all the way through, sacrilege for the PC Master Race I know) and now beating it myself once on the second hardest difficulty, Here are my thoughts. Not as interesting or varied environment wise compared to the first one since its in New York, very linear, which WILL piss fans of the original off. suit mechanics have improved and are easier to use with the controller, plus killing Ceph gives you currency to upgrade your suit. These upgrades provide a moderate effect to gameplay, not enough to add replay value in my opinion. You also have items like dog tags and recordings to collect every mission that unlock bonus content. The story in fairly straight forward, nothing special, better than the first in my opinion but not by much. Newbies may find this fairly outdated by todays standards. Graphics were ahead of their time but mechanics are cumbersome by todays standards and PRophet(the main character) survives about the same as the protagonist from Call of Duty, the suit doesnt really feel powerful or otherworldly in comparison to similar games like Ghostrunner. You dont get cool weapons or god tier upgrades like a plasma sword or advanced suit modes that combine functions as rewards for milestones. I havent used mods so no idea how they work but I hear they have some great ones that add a ton of replay value Since its till available, get it on sale if you want it over the remaster, since 30 bucks is too much for a game this old

It's wild how 15 years later any computer can run crysis, but back in the day this was the benchmark for how good a game can look. The game is ok, but fighting human enemies was always way funner than fighting the squids
