F to those who didn't make it to see the release of Dino Crisis on Steam after 27 years. I'm surprised that Capcom hasn't forgotten about this series. This game deserves a remake.

[For Linux proton/Steamdeck users before buying this you need to fix the registry error first because it doesn't work out of the box] First i recommend using GE-Proton latest, this port of the game is the same from GOG, if you are getting the "Registry" error from the launcher don't worry there's a easy fix for this, install "Protontricks", open Protontricks from your terminal, select "Dino Crisis: 4249130" it should be named like this, after that select "Default Prefix", Run Regedit, from there you can see on the top left named "Registry" select "import registry file", get your dino crisis folder where you installed, there should be a file named "dc1.reg", Import that and it should be good, close the protontricks and go to the steam command launch. Now this is the funny part, there's another boss you have to fight called "Directdraw" error, to bypass that you need to open steam launch options of the game and add "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw.dll=n,b" %command%" and Done, the game is working without any issues, it does not crash and the FMVs are working without any problem because of the GE-Proton fixes. BEFORE opening the game make sure the volume is low because the intro is super loud. I don't understand why Capcom makes these things so difficult to deal with if we are PAYING for their games but whatever, at least there's a way to play Dino crisis without using ISO file. the game itself it is the OG Dino crisis from the PS1 but ported to PC and that's it, nothing new as far as i know, i recommend playing this with D-Pad, you can change using Steam input.
