This game made me realize just how sentimental I'm getting as I age. It's a simple setup, and a straightforward punchline, but damn it made me teary-eyed as I hit credits. It's cute, not too pricey, fun, and the variety of mechanics keeps things pretty fresh throughout the runtime. I personally got probably pretty close to "solving" the gameplay loop by the time I hit credits, but that just made the ending hit harder. Overall, a lovely experience that I'd recommend to anyone that goes in for shopkeeping games with customization options.

Fun little diversion of a game. Really enjoyed the music, and the general gameplay loop is meditative enough to feel pretty chill. The only complaints I have are [*] The game desperately needs a proofreader. None of the errors are heinous, but it's consistently noticeable. I think the dialog has had another pass since originally writing the review! [*] A lot of mechanics don't feel fully utilized. With the length of the main storyline and many things being locked between player level and gold, I think it's pretty possible that you could complete the game without even touching slimes or the smithing system. Enjoyed the puzzles for some of the secrets in the game. The game has a very chill vibe overall. I think I've called it chill like four times now. Chill chill chill.

This game is an absolute gem! Totally immersive, lots of content, fun mini-side quests, and the LORE! Just threw be back in time when I first hear the music and saw the fantastic graphics. Loving the pet slimes and as a cat owner, I cannot get enough of petting the cat and also as a tuxie owner, I cannot wait to release the one in jail (if you know tuxies there's a DEFINITE reason its locked up haha) anyway this checks all my boxes except for I would love to do a little cleaning maybe outside the shop like sweep the entrance hallway or something like that but I know a lot of folks are not fan of cleaning in their sims...but I enjoy it :) Such a chill and laidback game, I can tell I am going to spend a lot of time in it and worth every penny!

The vibes? Immaculate The slimes? Jiggly The cat? Pet The shop? Kept If you are a fan of shopkeep games and want something short and sweet on the plot-side (I completed the main story in 4 hours; there's more to unlock after) while allowing you to forever make number go up with several avenues to approach it (gardening, smithing, simple trade), Dungeon Bodega Simulator will likely be up your alley. The selection of music to which you can swap between fits very well with the atmosphere and relaxed nature of the game. Absolute bangers all around during my playthrough. At it's current price point and the experience I've had with it so far, I would definitely recommend it to those who are interested.
