Oct. 2025
I have read some comments about play-ability, especially where it relates to movement with the keyboard and character speed. I cannot speak to the use of a keyboard, but I can confirm there is ZERO issue with movement or player speed/controls using a hand-held game controller. As an aside, character speed can be increased using the LT on the controller. Player stamina will increase if you eat cooked food. In terms of overall play-ability of the game, I find it works fine, does not crash. There is a weird alpha layer glitching that occurs with the grass and water graphics most notable during the night, but that is strictly aesthetic and does not affect play. My only real complaint with the game, and this is strictly a 'me' preference, is that I HATE all the mini-games. They wouldn't be so bad if they were optional and you could skip them, but they are not in many cases and are required to further the story often. I would rather these 'mini-games' were just incorporated into the storyline and the items they unlock were hidden in world or attached to a quest. Which ultimately they are, but the mini-games are required to trigger them. This one feature is so incredibly annoying as you move further into the game, that it is almost reason enough "for me" to just call it quits. But I am stubborn, so probably won't. Another feature I simply HATE is when you sleep at night. If you get a dream that is great as it is just an info dump and it will unlock a quest for a new object or animal; usually. However, when you do the dream lottery, which you're locked into playing, the wheel often lands on wolf and this tears up the farm every single time. If you change the dream to skip the wolf, you get a different annoying dream mini-game. No matter the case, you will wake up in the morning to find animals out of pens, and a ton of fencing broke, even if you didn't dream the wolf. It gets extremely annoying and tedious to have to constantly rebuild features, recapture animals, and then all the farm chores, which must be done daily. Sometimes by the time I finish it is night again already. I believe the developers probably thought these dream features would be cute and interesting, but they're not. Ultimately they're just annoying and frustrating, without adding any interesting game play to the game. Some people have commented on bugs. There are a few. The majority of bugs I encountered seemed to stem from save files for whatever reason. But sometimes I just couldn't finish a quest because the item would not trigger and/or appear. I have had to start the game over from the beginning over 4 times. This last restart has so far been pretty good. And I discovered some of the "bugs" turned out to my misunderstanding some game mechanic. For instance, I too was having an issue with stamina, but soon realized that you can increase it, and keep it high by cooking food and eating it everyday. Ultimately I think it is a good game but needs some further development, bug fixes, and some general housekeeping. If they would get rid of all the mini-game BS and incorporate that into the game, thereby fleshing out the base game further, I think that would be a real win. I doubt that will be the case, just saying.

Everdream Valley Master Review (2025 Edition) – Farmcore Crack for the Wholesome at Heart ⭐ 4.5/5 stars — Half a star deducted for bugs, but I’d still die for my chunky cow. Let’s get this straight: I LOVE THIS GAME. Everdream Valley didn’t just charm me — it straight-up kidnapped my free time, fattened up my animals, and made me emotionally attached to a digital goat that plays with a beach ball for fun. It’s cozy. It’s colorful. It’s got that “what if a bedtime story and a farming sim had a baby” energy. And yeah — it has some bugs and the Wolves can be seen as a nuance. Sometimes animals clip through walls or a quest just kind of… forgets it existed. But guess what? I DON’T CARE. Because when you’re feeding your chunky sheep and pigs and they waddle up to you like squishy clouds with legs, all sins are forgiven. And I’m not the only one who fell down the Everdream rabbit hole. I showed it to my brother. Now he’s addicted too. We show off our farms like a talent show, arguing over who has the best fence layout. Everdream Valley does something magical — it pulls you in with its cuteness, then hooks you with that endless loop of tending, planting, harvesting, and lowkey becoming besties with my chicken named Larry. Summary: Gameplay: Addictive. The good kind. Like chips. Animals: Chunky. Perfect. Deserve love. Glitches: Present, but not game-breaking. Just a dash of jank for flavor. Multiplayer: Yes, go to your Friends Farm and help them achieve their Dreams while being awake and having fun. Vibes: Sleepy, dreamy, and pure serotonin. Final Verdict: Everdream Valley is a cozy masterpiece that might glitch once in a while, but never enough to stop you from chasing a goose across your field like it owes you rent. To my brother — may the best farm win. To the devs — don’t fix the charm. Just fix the bugs. To everyone else — play this game. You won’t put it down. Yours Truly, -MasterLuis

This game is a solid "meh", but on the more positive end. I don't feel super strongly about it, but I am also a hardcore enthusiast for cozy farm games so this is perfect for me. That said, some of the aspects of the game are wildly frustrating. I spend more time harvesting, drying, and putting out hay for my animals than anything else. I live on a farm irl, I have all kinds of farm animals. The fact that one sheep goes through one large square bale a day, is insane. I have 14 goats that don't even go through a small square a day. The animal byproduct mini games are also frustrating. Cute the first time. After the 50th time I just stopped harvesting the animal goods. Just frustrating and tedious to devote so much time just to basic animal care.

Very cute and cozy! I like everything about this except for the occasional mini-game which you must play to progress through the game.
