I never intended to buy this game. At the time of the beta, I was a dedicated Street Fighter 6 player. I had never played an SNK game before, though I had spent more than a decade playing fighting games. The beta instantly hooked me with its gameplay mechanics. This is one of the few modern fighting games that not only encourages defensive play but actively prioritizes it. If you're a fan of 3rd Strike, this game feels like it was made for you. It’s essentially a modern take on 3rd Strike thanks to its heavy emphasis on defensive mechanics. The game features a defensive mechanic called Just Defend. It isn't really a 3S parry, since you can't cancel it into normal attacks and it doesn't grant frame advantage. However, you can immediately cancel it into specials and supers. There's also Hyper Defense, which is essentially a 1 to 1 of 3rd Strike's Red Parry system. I'm obsessed with the depth of this game. The defensive systems and layers that it creates is an incredibly rewarding experience once you start to become competent. That said, I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking primarily for single-player content. Compared to Street Fighter 6 and honestly many other fighting games, the singleplayer experience is lacking. However, if you enjoy fighting games that reward relatively high execution through defensive mechanics, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's sick. I no longer main Street Fighter 6; this game completely won me over and sparked my interest in SNK titles as a whole. I'm already tempted to check out KoF XIII, and I'd love to see SVC 2 or CVS 3 someday. More than anything, this game has reignited my enthusiasm for modern fighting games.

The amount of times that SNK makes a cool ass fighting game but does the stupidest stuff either outside the game or the lack of inside the game, that makes people stop playing or never play should be studied. Fun game but I hardly get matches man.

Solid fighting game for its current sale price ($20) that was almost murdered by two real life guest characters that should have never been introduced. Instead of adding Kim Jae Hoon, and Freeman. Also get Fighting EX Layer for $1 while you're at it.

I'm healing with this game. If you are burnout of modern fighting games with their 50/50 gamble situations and throw loops, this game is a gem in a generation of brain roth fighting games. Choose the character you like more, train, get better, go online, learn from your oponents and mistakes, train more, just as the old days. Gameplay 10/10 -SNK have more experience making fighting games tha any other company and did more innovations to the genere. Graphics 8.5/10 -Graphics could be better, but they looks good and girls look amazing, waiting for Blue Mary who looks gorgeous. Sound 10/10 SNK sound team is legendary, one of the best composers in video game industry. An excellent fighting game for true fans of fighting games.
