I think this is a successful evolution of Wuxia Games. The combat style to me was impressive. Finally, a game that is not turned based style. Worth a try if you are into Wuxia genre.

One of the best Chinese Martial Arts or Wuxia RPG games. The quest system in the game is so complicated that it gives a kind of old school CRPG vibe. Hundreds of NPCs in the game gives countless quests which may or may not be traceable. You will have to get the correct items and manually display to them based on limited hints. This is definitely not an easy task but provides satisfactory experience when you manage to do correctly or creatively. Combats are real time which is not so common for this type of genre. Main game combats are not difficult and you can grind to make them easier. DLC combats are much more difficult, especially if you are trying to get the highest rank for achievements. The game doesn't have an official english language support but English sub are available online. Quests in the game involve a lot of riddle or puzzle solving so subtle that they are difficult for even native Chinese speakers. So if you are playing with English sub and couldn't understand certain quests or hints, it might not be a translation problem. Achievements in the game theoretically can be completed in one run. However, most likely you will need to do a second run at least to cover those missed achievements. The game has so many possible branches that it's very easy to miss a few areas or quest lines in the first run. The game is running fine on steam deck except for draining batteries. The battery percentage is slowly dropping when playing and charging at the same time. Other than this, it is actually a good experience on deck. You can customize your controls to preferred style as the game needs many buttons for optimal experience. Turbo buttons help tremendously in certain part of the game. Lastly on a side note, the game happened in early Song Dynasty of ancient China. The Emperor of the previous Dynasty is called "Chai Rong" in game. However, he should be addressed as "Guo Rong" as that was his formal name since he was adopted in his early life. Chai Rong was his birth name. He was also widely considered as one of the best rulers in the period of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. For a game with historical background, I thought that should be corrected.

I got this game in 2020, and I have re-played the game 7 times in the last 5 years, the game is extremely stable in a way that players can never mess up the encounters, players can switch back and forth and it wouldn't close out the encounter. Unlike Tale of Wu Xia or Tale of Wu Xia Prequel, in those games players need to follow specific order on the encounter or the encounter would not be able available anymore. I really like the main character's personality in Fate Seeker, he is smart, cunning, and kind. Each kung fu technique in Fate Seeker is also artistic. There are tons of information online to help new players to pass boss fights. I highly recommend to play this game in its original language (Chinese). Better yet, play in Chinese traditional font, not simplified font.
