Dec. 2025
This game has some very absorbing gameplay, but if you're thinking of getting it, you should know it just doesn't feel finished. Two levels and a PvP mode aren't enough. I know there's more content on the way to the full release, but as it stands, it's kind of an unfulfilling experience. After unlocking the second level, it seems like a third level (at least) would also unlock to fight the Demon King. There isn't one. You unlock the PvP mode and that's all you get. I'm recommending this game with the assumption it'll eventually launch fully with a bit more significant content than it has now.

It's a good game. Definitively a good game. But make sure you know what you're getting into. At first it looks like a rogue-like, but it's more like a deck-building game with a frustrating map (let's say, in S;ay The Spire, you can't get lost on the map. Here, since it's an "open world", while here you might have to start a new game because of a poor map layout or took a bad turn.) The first few game were super fun, you get to explore simple mechanics. It was challenging, but pretty surface level kind of things. Then you get to thesecond level, and you get a lot more mechanic to play around. It's fun, but pretty overwhelming and abstract. You can't really just play casualy, you got to find a way to break the game a bit. Then you get the multiplayer. And it's a very cool concept. It's super fun, because you get to see the builds of other player and test yours against them. But then it's where it stops being as fun, because you notice that the builds that tend to make it are pretty much game-breaking. It turns into an Arm Race where you gotta create a build that can one shot the other before they can one shot you. For better or worst, it's like if Slay The Spire lets you try your build against others and... As much as I thought it would be fun, I find it rather frustrating. That being said, try it out. There's always solo player, and I might stick to it from now on.

Very fun and addicting. That said, the comments disliking the game for its "anti-rougelite progression" also has a point. The more you play, the more items you would unlock, which (ironically) dilutes the desired gear pool, causing whatever stuff you desperately need to make your build work to drift further out of grasp. This creates a paradox that contradicts the game's rougelite nature, resulting in future playthroughs that get harder and harder Thankfully, the devs have acknowledged this issue and promised to look into it, so this game still has a thumbs up from me Edit: The devs have made a lot of balance changes and the game is much friendlier to both casual and competitive players now!

Devs really nailed down the fundations that make the game a quick, fun and replayable rougelike. However, there are some crucial flaws that need to be addressed. The biggest problem by far is too much RNG. There is no system you can use to filter items to help you aim for a specific build. Actually, the more you play and the more items you unlock, the harder it is to create a cohesive build. This makes it really difficult to win against final area bosses that really don't play around. (Above issue has been resolved) Once they correct that and add new content and QoL featurues like mouse control and mid-run saving, there won't be much reason to complain. Game is good but it has potential to be truly great, fingers crossed.

TL;DR - Games good, but it's so RNG heavy don't expect to win. Ever. You CAN, I've seen people who have. I haven't. 90% RNG, 10% player input kinda game. This game is so incredibly RNG heavy that it's barely even a game you can 'play' I have never beaten the last boss of a run, despite knowing exactly what he does, and what I could do to beat him. I've tried going for synergies, doing burst damage, sustained healing, sustained armor, armor regen, reducing his attack, scaling mine the longer a fight goes on, so on and so on. I have tried to win seriously, I have planned my runs based on what I've been offered, I have pivoted on the final day to a totally different build. Nothing works. I always fail, and consistently I've managed to get the boss to 5 HP out of 100. Or, I get completely wiped. I have found some in-between, but that's most of my runs. Sometimes I also get slammed first day because I just don't get an item I need, however simple it might be to come across. That all being said, I enjoy the game because it's so chill to play, and I can see that it COULD be an awesome rougelike if there was just...some tweaks, or something dude, I don't know. It feels like this could be an idle game with how little control I have over anything. Why isn't it? At this point it even feels like my choices don't matter. Just before writing this review, I found an item pre-upgraded to DIAMOND, I didn't even know it could go that high. You wanna know how that run went despite building hard into maximizing it and other synergies? Died to the last boss, didn't even beat his first phase. Absolutely melted the other two bosses turn one, they couldn't even attack me, but I just...can't beat the final boss of the FIRST ZONE. I keep picking it up every day and trying a few runs, I just can't make it man, maybe I'm not understanding something on how items spawn, I don't know. Overall, it's a fun game, and I do recommend it for fans of roguelikes akin to Loop Hero. I just can't seem to win a single run. Oh, and unlocking items actively hurts your future runs. Having a bigger item pool means it's even harder to find good items, even if the one you unlocked is fantastic, actually finding it in a run you want it in is completely random. I think I'm realizing that other roguelikes I've played may 'tilt' the RNG scales to feel more 'fair' or 'fun' becuase if this is what completely random percentages feels like, I'm baffled I've never felt this way with other roguelikes I've played.
