Pretty solid open-world RPG that is mired with some annoying flaws, would recommend it on a sale. This is a martial arts RPG where you strive to be the strongest warrior in the land. You have complete freedom to build your character and your companions and pursue one of several different storylines leading to multiple different endings. There is also a lot of companions to recruit, pets, martial arts and weapons to collect and learn. It is a completely open structure, meaning you can go anywhere and pursue the story event whenever you feel like it (mostly, there are a few that are timed). Now, onto the cons: - The quality of english translation noticeably deteriorates towards the back half of the game. At the start it's a bit awkward but honestly good enough to play, but by the end I was just skipping through the dialogue because it was unreadable gibberish. - The combat is either too easy or impossible. This is probably inevitable due to the nature of powerscaling, but outside of the starting area where you are more or less level with every enemy, you will either completely annihilate groups of enemies with one attack, or you will run into a master so above your level that winning will be impossible without grinding and getting better skills. Not a huge problem, but if you luck into a good weapon or skill early on, it can make a huge chunk of the game kinda boring. - There are no random encounters in this game - this is good. You will mostly fight predetermined characters based on events you choose. Honestly great choice, every fight feels unique this way. However, there is one major exception - there are a couple of 'dungeon' areas that you will revisit often, where you will have to fight endlessly respawning animals. And I don't mean they just respawn when you leave the map - they respawn every 3-5 minutes. Each time you visit, you'll have to slog through at least 20 meaningless trash fights. There is a way to avoid it - if you max out your animal husbandry skill, no animal will ever attack you again. But you will not get that until the endgame and your first playthrough will be excruciating. There are also a few dungeons with non-animal enemies that you can never avoid. In conclusion, it is a bit too rough around the edges for me to recommend it full price, but it is often on sale and I had 60hrs of decent fun with it. If you really vibe with it, you'll surely clock in more with repeated plays to see all possible storylines.

This game is the best starter for your whole non-gacha chinese game journey and let me tell you, this is only the tip of the iceberg, for all of you who are tired playing the same western or even japanese game, try this game. The story is very good and humorous with multiple outcomes and endings, I personally find chinese translated english cute, game mechanic is crazy good with many variety, once you know the joy of finding martial art book, learn and master it, you can never go back to your regular skill mechanic. And after you play this, you'll try to find games similar like this, search titles with Immortal, cultivation, Wuxia or Xianxia in it, and you found all of it, but it's not enough, you turn on simplified chinese in steam setting, search again, and you can only hope the game you caught interest in will get translated by developer or fans, but you have better chance learning chinese. Welcome to the bottomless hell of indie chinese game 10/10

No clue with all those complaints about the english translation. To me it gives this 70's/80's bootlegged movie vibes. But ngl, the mechanics are fun and thats what is most important to me. I'm not the type to go edgelord over a few misspellings and typo's. Then again english is a second language for me too.

Fun game. The replay-ability goes pretty far. The translation is fine for the most part, but in certain areas of the game the dialog changes in quality. "me will protect you" vs "I will protect you". Its never so bad you can't understand what the characters are saying and for the most part the game is good with translation. its mostly in the western region of the map.

What really makes this stand apart is the freedom of choice, attack anyone, befriend mostly anyone, and your pick of what weapon and skills you use. You pick what organizations to help/destroy, it just does such a good job of just making you part of the rpg world rather than forcing you down a strict route. Multiple different endings, infinite amount of choices.
