Like other reviews say, Hoa has this strong Ghibli-esque visual identity, but I wouldn't call it a carbon copy. The colors are warm, the lines are crisp, and the VFX and animations complement the whole thing impeccably. Something about this children's-storybook-illustration look makes you feel nice . The platforming itself is really easy, the level design super simple, and yet the gameplay is buttery smooth, mwah, chef's kiss. You never get stuck or frustrated, you can't die, but the whole game is paced and packed so tightly, you never really feel bored. I think we all need that kind of a break in our gaming every once in a while. It's meditative. I think Hoa is also a perfect gateway game for anyone in your life who has 0 experience with video games, especially platformers. It's forgiving on mistakes, and the difficulty doesn't ramp up. The only ones who probably won't have fun are players who enjoy the rush, challenge and greater complexity found in other platformers. They'll most likely find themselves frustrated over the pacing. All in all, Hoa feels like a cup of your favorite drink while you laze about the garden under an afternoon sun. Get it! Especially now, when it's discounted to $3 and like... you're giving money to someone's passion project that, in my opinion, ended up a real gem.

I decided to buy Hoa from reviews that described it as Studio Ghibli Esk and they werent wrong, everything from the beautiful artwork to the cute characters and music really gives those vibes. Although short, it was a real pleasure to play, the lack of enemies made it one of the more casual/relaxing games ive played and i really enjoyed the change of pace compared to games ive been playing recently.

A magical, musical fantasy world that masks the weak storyline and gameplay.
