I’ve been looking for something that scratches the 7DTD itch for me! This is the first game (after trying dozens) that does the trick! Currently trying it out on the steamdeck and have liked what I see so far! My only major gripe is lack of player customization- I’m female and I want to play as one (and customize how she looks) Can’t wait to see what the future brings!
I walked for 4 hours of REAL TIME and entered six different biomes. And I saw no end in sight. It is MASSIVE! This game is amazingly good for an Early Access title. Other developers would have released this quality level as a full 1.0 version. But the standards here are much higher. That both reassures and delights me. The game is addictive. Everything feels cohesive, and the procedurally generated world is massive. You can choose your difficulty level, making it perfect for both beginners and absolute pros. The firearms are brilliant. I like that there are different quality tiers and that you can improve your character with new skills as you level up. The zombies have levels, too; the last zombie I saw right before I died was level 476. These RPG elements feel so good, and the different quality tiers make you crave more and better loot! I can recommend it 100%; anyone who loved *7 Days* will quickly fall in love with this game as well. There are an incredible number of possibilities, and I’m really excited to see what’s coming next. Hopefully, new characters, too. So far, only the Scavenger is truly interesting. The Mechanic has a skill cap that makes him useless in the endgame, and the Huntress—despite her increased bow damage—quickly falls behind in DPS compared to firearms and melee combat.
Human Host has great potential so far. Definitely early access in regards to components of the game still left to work on from the roadmap but updates have been frequent. It takes me back to the nice early days of 7DTD (over 2000 hrs). Keep up the good work Devs! Don't follow the the mistakes and blunders of Fun Pimps and you'll do great.
