This game is brutal. Do not buy it if you're looking for a roguelike that let's you turn your brain off. It takes hours of gameplay to understand the combos and deck synergies. Once things start to click, it feels exceptionally good. At time of posting, I have 3 clears in 58 games. I also love the theme and think it translates quite well to a video game.

As someone who's played way too much roguelike deckbuilders, who's 100% Slay the Spire twice and Balatro once, I will say this is one of the better games in the genre out there. It wears its inspirations on its sleeve but has its own unique mechanics. It's high difficulty caught me off guard because it's implemented in a way that feels like losing was a skill issue and not RNG (an issue that games such as 9 Kings at high difficulties and Dog Witch suffer from). It isn't a walk in the park, and there's enough content for multiple playthroughs (not as much as the aforementioned greats in the genre but it just came out so what can you expect). The gameplay loop is satisfying, there are multiple approaches to winning, and the high difficulty is refreshing. Anyone who's played a lot of any other games in the genre will love this game. It is so good that the negative reviews were frustrating to read. "The game is too hard", "The game is too much like Balatro but worse". These lowbrow reviews made with 2 hours on record make me wish for the writers to live a happy life with a loving family and a lamp. The game is good. It innovates in its own unique way that does not feel heavily RNG-dependent or boringly easy. Would recommend.

Good and fun! Don't worry, you can disable CRT/noise/bloom/screenshake/flash effects individually in the graphic options. Elsewise the sound/visual feedback of the UI makes this a pleasant piece to touch. Lots of focus on synergies. Winning feels difficult. 120+ cards and 60+ perks/items may be quite a learning curve at first, but they eventually provide surprisingly various combos to be exploited. With a grain of luck it's definitely doable.

Played the demo a bunch. Loved it! Won a lot of games. So happy to purchase the full game. Full game puts me under a false sense of security. I feel like Jordan Belfort after being found out. I'm losing hard, but I'm having an absolute blast doing it and relearning the game. I realise this is where I have to use my brain, scraping out every buff, every debuff and perk like my life depends on it! At this stage, it makes Balatro look like a kids game. You better know your synergies and understand combos or the Stock Market will instead manipulate you! For those who have abandoned Micro$lop. Linux support exists out the gate and works well on CachyOS and SteamOS for the Deck and other handhelds on Day 1. I love this game! I've just gotta get good!
