Dec. 2025
This game is so much better than the reviews suggest. Here's why. The whole PvP aspect of this game was slightly downplayed in order to make more sales. It was mentioned and shown in the trailer, but they weren't explicit enough about it. This brought in a lot of PvE players who thought they could just avoid PvP. When the PvE players found out how limited the PvE is and how you're forced into PvP in order to progress, they trashed the reviews. Almost all the negative reviews are from PvE players upset about the limited PvE and forced PvP. If not for them, this game would have mostly positive reviews, maybe even overwhelmingly positive. Here's the truth about this game. It is, first and foremost, a PvP extraction shooter with PvE survival elements. The graphics and art style are top notch. The controls and mechanics are smooth and intuitive. The loot/progression mechanics are satisfying and rewarding. I haven't noticed any bugs or glitches. This is overall a great survival extraction game. Instead of getting a safehouse, hideout, or HQ with a stash of gear, you get a whole PvE island to yourself (and a few invited friends) where you can build your own base. Need more storage? Just build more storage boxes like any other survival game. You can easily craft an unlimited amount of primitive starter gear and loot the island for better weapons. The PvE island is very limited though. Enemies will respawn, but the loot in containers doesn't. You need to go on "expeditions" to the western PvP island to get better materials and components and extract successfully to progress. It's PvE survival and base-building with PvP loot runs. If you're looking for a PvE experience, don't get this game. You will be disappointed. they're adding a PvE mode at no extra charge. If you want the thrilling, heart-pounding action that comes with PvP survival games without your base getting destroyed and looted while you're at work or decaying because you took a break for a week, this is the game for you. I highly recommend it.

Solo play: If you know how to cheese npc's and stay away from players. You will do fine! I have died more to npc's more than players. Base raids of savages could be nerfed a little or at least up the hit points a little of the thatch walls. Repairing a piece of swiss cheese is annoying. Be prepared to make a lot of containers, especially if you are OCD and organized. :) Overall im having a great time with this game.

The people reviewing this game saying the hyenas, Ai is overpowered, just a skill issue tbh 2 headshots with bow kill hyenas, and low tier npc’s the games system is set up to match solos with solo if at all possible. Honestly as a solo player, i haven't felt disadvantaged, have i died a few times? Yeah its PvP you’re going to die, throwing a fit because you died in a PvP game is insane imo, it definitely needs polish around corners, and the AI seems a little dumb sometimes, like they will look directly at you and not react, but otherwise, imo fun, interactive, and addictive gameplay makes me want to play more

This game is a treasure. I like Rust but it can be infuriating to be offlined in Rust, plus it costs time to keep your base alive. I like pubg but pubg has gotten fortnitey, this game has the same feeling of panic and suspense escaping an island as that feeling that pubg has when its a final circle. It has a similar feeling of securing a base as Rust, without all of the risk. There are no comms with enemy players, which i think is a good and beautful feature. its a matter of dropping on an enemy team, ruining their run, taking all their stuff, and hoping that another team isn't about to do the same to you before you escape the island. You don't have obnoxious people screaming into their mics. Its a very competitive game without the element of toxicity that some games have. In short, this game is way better than it might seem at first glance. It checks all the boxes for players like me, is a great squad based shooter / builder / survival game. If you are on the fence, try it out and get on the pvp island.

Okay so here’s the thing. I give this game a thumbs up because despite my own personal qualms with it, it’s still a very well designed game. I’ll go into my issues with it here in a moment but first the game is actually really good. In terms of its gunplay, base building, mechanics, graphics, sound, stability hell even the pricetag is appropriate. It’s got so much going for it, and yet it’s not for me. Why? Well I hate the fact that story, quest, technological progression is all tied to PVP. The only way to progress in the story and to progress in technology to use at your own little base builder is to go on an online PVP expedition where other players will literally shoot you in the head while your busy fighting a giant gorilla and they’ll take all your stuff before they themselves get sniped while hunting said gorilla. You’ll receive a quest about 40 minutes in about how you need certain supplies to improve your overall tech and take yourself from the stone age to the iron age and tech needed to progress the quest and main story. However, the only way to get the items needed to progress in both of these is to go online and forces you into PVP with other players in an extraction shooter based mechanic. Personally, I don’t enjoy extraction shooters. I wanted an open world survival crafting game. I didn’t get one. So I was already upset but despite this I continued playing. When it looked rightfully impossible for me to progress at all, that’s when I gave up. I didn’t come here for this. At the very least it would have been nice if you could opt out of pvp. But as far as I know you can’t. Regardless, despite me not liking the game. I give it a thumbs up because it’s still very well designed in almost every way. The gameplay, controls, most of the mechanics, graphics and more like i mentioned earlier are all very well designed. It’s just not a game for me. Make sure you know exactly what it is you’re getting into before you purchase. It’s a crafting game where you have to grind incessantly for resources AND an extraction based progression locked shooter. If you’d like a more in-depth look at the game with more information I encourage you to check out the review on my YouTube Channel (link below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj-z1jn0clE Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.
