One of the best "creature collection" game, made with a lot of love. I've played the demo and fell in love with the game, for the first time since Cassette Beasts, the gameplay feel fresh and clear. I struggle with rythm so the overworld capture is not for me, but you can also catch Animon in fight. Beehive have learn a lot since their previous project and you can feel how they outgrow the limitation of their inspiration. I'll probably update this when i'll have played a bit more, but with a few hours in, i'll say : go for it ! (even more at this price) For the dev who may look : the aniverse may need a little bit more work, better ergonomy for the furniture placing etc. Also a way to put point of interest ourselves on the map would be nice ! Edit : - The evolved form of Animon often pop before you manage to raise their level enough (bummer...). The grind isn't worth it, speedrunning around new map to catch them is... - Don't go too fast in dialog options, you may miss critical choices et "f*ck up" your save, also save frequently by hand... Edit 2 : - The game still has some minor bugs (interactions with holoken not working etc.), just lost 40 min of grind with a crash, DON'T RELY TOO MUCH ON AUTO SAVE, it's a lie. Thanks for this gem !

Having a blast with this so far. Second day after release and they’ve already come out with a hotfix for major bugs, so impatient people have clearly jumped the gun on reviews. In my experience it’s been entirely playable, and fun. Definitely for pokémon, digimon and monster taming fans, with enough new/unique systems and features to feel fresh and exciting. Very much scratching an itch for creature collecting and exciting turn based combat, spent the entire day waiting to get back from work so i can explore the world more and find/evolve more animon

Besides the bugs, I've enjoyed the game so far. My takes: -Some people hate the story/dialogue of the game but i've enjoyed it personally. -Soundtrack is amazing, LIKE amazing amazing. -Visuals are super nice. -Gameplay is great, I like the variety of the elements that we get, its super nice. -Bugs are being fixed, which is GOOD since I did get softlock and lost about 40 min of progress. I know lots of people probably looking at the negative reviews and thought "nah, its not worth it", try it, especially if you love games like pokemon/digimon etc. I've been waiting for a good game for this genre for a while and this is, I would say it's one of the best pokemon-esque game on steam as of now. To those who I conflicted on buying this, if you like game of this genre, its worth the price. Also Vortail FTW

I’m genuinely surprised by how much I’m enjoying this game so far. Visually, it looks fantastic, with an art style that clearly takes inspiration from Pokémon while still building its own identity with a darker and more unique atmosphere. The world feels cohesive, the environments are enjoyable to explore, and the optimization is honestly impressive. On the Steam Deck especially, the game runs really well with smooth performance overall, which honestly deserves recognition nowadays. One of the game’s biggest strengths is definitely its atmosphere. The soundtrack fits the world perfectly and adds a lot to the immersion. The characters are likable, some of the dialogue is genuinely enjoyable, and while the story may not reinvent the genre, it still keeps me invested. You can tell there’s real care put into the worldbuilding and the overall vibe of the game. If you’re a Pokémon fan, there’s a very high chance you’ll enjoy this game. It captures that same feeling of exploration, team building, and creature collecting, while adding its own personality and a slightly more mature tone. It feels familiar in a good way, but still fresh enough to stand on its own. As for gameplay, the battles can be pretty challenging at times. Personally, I don’t mind that because it feels intentional and fits the type of experience the game is aiming for, but I understand why some players might find the progression a bit grindy. That being said, I honestly think it’s a little ridiculous to post definitive reviews on a Pokémon-like game after only 2 or 3 hours. In Pokémon Diamond/Pearl, after 2 hours you’re barely reaching the second gym in Eterna City, so of course the early game can feel easy or a bit boring at times. People seem to forget that progression and difficulty curves in this genre are usually slow burns. And in Pokémon’s case, everyone remembers how the late game suddenly changes once you run into Cynthia. As for the endgame, I’m still very far from reaching it, so I honestly can’t give a proper opinion on that yet. I’m hoping there’s a solid amount of post-game content, but for now I’d rather not judge something I haven’t experienced myself. That’s why I think some of the negative reviews about difficulty or pacing are a bit exaggerated. You need to give this type of game time before judging the overall experience properly. That being said, I do want to be honest about the technical issues. The game still has a few bugs, and some problems are absolutely worth mentioning. The save-related complaints, in particular, are completely valid since some players have reported losing progress. Because of that, I highly recommend making regular backup saves whenever possible. It’s definitely something the developers should address quickly, and unlike the complaints about difficulty after a couple of hours, this is a genuinely important issue. Overall, I’m having a really good time with it. There’s clearly a lot of passion behind the project, and despite its flaws, the experience remains immersive and memorable. For the price, I absolutely think it’s worth it, especially if you enjoy monster-taming RPGs with a slightly darker atmosphere and a bit more challenge than usual.
