My cousin and I first discovered Mount & Blade: Warband years ago when we were kids. When we first got the game, we didn’t even play it alone—we took turns on the same campaign, passing the controls back and forth as we explored the world together. The modding blew our minds at the time, from Rome to Vikings, and even Samauri! Before long, we discovered the community around the game and dove right in. What started as just a game quickly became something much bigger for us. Through it, I met some of the greatest friends I’ve ever had. Without this game, I honestly wouldn’t have met them, and I wouldn’t have the countless memories that came with those years of playing together. To me, Mount & Blade: Warband isn’t just a game from my childhood—it’s a place where friendships were made and stories were shared. No matter how old and outdated it is, It gave me moments I’ll always cherish. It was totally worth it at the time :)

There is no ideology and no grand cause, only colors on a map changing and numbers going up and down. Before long, it feels like watching the evening news, full of unseen pride, greed, and restless politics.

Without a single doubt, this is my all-time favorite videogame. You know when you look back on and think: “What an incredible game — I don’t regret a single hour I poured into it.” — that’s exactly how I feel about Mount & Blade: Warband. I’ve completed the campaign countless times, both on Steam and on PS4. Later on, I even became the first Portuguese player to earn every single trophy on PS4 (according to PSNProfiles). In my opinion, this franchise created an incredibly advanced system for its time. You can not only manage your character, troops, and relations, but also take part in massive real-time battles, fighting and commanding your army at the same time. You can serve as a vassal of a kingdom, assisting it in conquering territories from others. Later, you can betray or abandon that kingdom and build your own. You can also support a claimant to the throne, helping them reclaim their crown and becoming their loyal vassal. There’s just so much you can do! You can even marry a noble lady or recruit companions from taverns, and use them however you wish. Plus, you can turn them into your own vassals and grant them land. I also like how every playthrough feels different. You start as a nobody and slowly build your own story, no two journeys are ever the same. And if we talk about the sheer amount of mods available, from Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, to Star Wars and The Walking Dead (feels weird right?), wow! Mount & Blade: Warband is freaking amazing, no more words needed! Lastly, I have to mention Napoleonic Wars expansion. It made the game even better, introducing a multiplayer mode set in an incredible historical era. You’ll often find me there, leading my regiment while playing commander battles. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever stop playing this game. To wrap it up, as you can already tell, I absolutely recommend this game! Thanks so much for reading!

Mount & Blade is a total fulfillment for childhood dreams of crowns and conquest. It was the first PC game I ever played. I remember every Spring Festival when I went back to my hometown for family reunion the biggest excitement was to play Mount & Blade with my cousin. We raided villages, stormed castles, and laughed until the fireworks faded. I ain't got no pennies to buy the game back then, so I once copied the desktop icon onto my flash drive, praying it would run on my Dad's computer—it didn’t, but the hope still glows. Years gone by my cousin has married and become a father, while I still boot up the game from time to time. The graphics aged, yet the freedom feels eternal: one more caravan to chase, one more castle to take, one more kingdom to overthrown. Swadian knights thunder, Vaegir arrows darken the sky, hearing phantom hoof beats on familiar plains. Mount & Blade is not just as a game for me but as a keepsake of brotherhood and boundless imagination.
