This game requires a certain amount of autism to enjoy. After 10-20 hours, you will realise that you are just doing the same things again and again. But the people who enjoy this game do so greatly, and I can't exactly compare it to anything else, so I guess I recommend it.
I love this game. I have put way too many hours into this game. The gameplay loop is fairly simple, but the combat is really fun and unlike anything else except its own sequel. If you are going to play this game in 2026, be prepared for some jank and potato graphics. I recommend the overhaul mods Prophesy of Pendor, Last Days of the Third Age, and Bannerpage, in that order. The Viking Conquest expansion is also really good, but can take some getting used to.
