A rare gem of psychological horror hidden amidst the vast array of games in the genre on Steam. You take on the role of a neurologist dedicated to studying patients' psyches through an experiment that grants access to their deepest traumas, enabling you to assist in their subsequent treatment. I really appreciate games that build a sense of psychological horror through atmosphere rather than relying on cheap jump scares or jarring sound effects, and this is an excellent example of that. Throughout the game, you can freely explore the office, accessing various patients' synapses and detailed written reports on their mental health issues. It is an excellent game and features interesting psychological themes.
disclaimer: i don't have a biofeedback device so i just played it as a regular game. i thought this was going to be a horror game. spoiler alert, whilst it certainly is creepy at times, it's not a horror. it's a thoughtful exploration of PTSD. recommended for people with PTSD (it's more metaphorical than triggering, in my opinion), and recommended for people without, because i think the trauma exploration is very well done.
