The best Nintendo game Nintendo never made. Infuses the top-down Zelda formula with fresh new mechanics and uses them to great effect with incredible room and puzzle design. Great hidden secrets (some devious), a fun original world to explore (this city dethroned New Donk for me), and enough progression carrots to keep you motivated to complete every challenge and find every secret room exit. Played on Retroid Pocket 6, this game would be perfect on any capable handheld device. Steam time is inaccurate as I played offline, I hit 100% completion with about 16 hours of IGT.
Great metroidvania - exceedingly creative, super funny and interesting at all points. Amazing level design! Definitely a game from people who loves this genre and understands what makes it click. It's as funny and interesting as Dodgeball Academia (their previous title), but with perfect polish and tightness. Last time I was giddy like this playing a Brazilian game was when I played Moonleap. Cannot recommend this enough.
My personal game of the year. On the surface it looks like your typical pixel zelda clone, but what stood out to me is that it manages to surprise in its quality and its unique spin on the genre. It does not follow the same tropes and cliches in its story, gameplay or mechanics and that is refreshing. Thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to see what these developers come up with next.
