TRULY a hidden gem. Everything is great; despite the cute looks, it has drama mixed into the story. The puzzles are great, not too hard and not too easy, especially the puzzles inside the castle, and not to mention the great soundtracks.

This game is definitely an experience. The whole story is very emotional and despite the cute characters and fun puzzles the whole vibe is pretty gloomy and oppressive. I honestly liked playing it and didn't find boring at all, but I can totally see why it can be slow for some people. And because of it's gloomy atmosphere you won't be always in the mood to play it, which can break its flow a little bit. That's also the reason why I found one of the latest puzzles a bit too hard, had to look for some hints. It was still logical and not objectivly dificult, but I continued the game after quite a while and since there was a big scene and two characters to control at the same time and because I already forgot what I already found at that point... I was pretty confused. I'm not sure if I can blame the game for that haha. But overall, I loved Röki with its every strentghs and flaws. Especially the soundtrack, it's just PERFECT.

A game that stands out purely due to its awesome atmosphere and soundtrack, but that's hard not to recommend anyway. If you can look past these gameplay flaws, then don't hesitate: - Some puzzle mechanics are way overused, and some puzzles are repeated multiple times in a row with little to no variation. - Most of the puzzles sit on the (very) easy side, which sometimes gives the game a sort of mindless flow. While that's not actually disagreeable, it's clear that they're merely there to create the impression that you're doing something. - At one point in chapter 2, advancing the story *requires* you to speak to a random character, who has nothing special to say until you seemingly activate some random trigger. All the while, it looks like many puzzles are ongoing - turns out all of them are blocked behind that one action. Had to resort myself to brute force to figure it out. - Chapter 3 is based on some shoehorned mechanics that very much clash with the story and the way the characters behave.

An extensive puzzle game that explores a uniquely painted world which intertwines Scandanavian Folklore with themes of family. Whilst Chapter 1 acts as a basic precursor to set up elements of the story - which is ultimately good, however, not necessarily anything special and/or amazing - the real selling point of this game is throughout the expansive world of Chapter 2 in which the gameplay loop of collecting random items and utilising them elsewhere in a world that feels both small and large, different yet coherent allows Röki to have its own experience amongst competition. Chapter 3 expands on what made Chapters 1 and 2 great whilst introducing an interesting new gimmick to keep the experience fresh and interesting, ultimately I'm not a major fan of the ending and would've loved to see something more post game, at the very least being able to continue to explore the world (p.s. if you are aiming for all achievements/badges I would highly reccomend doing it as your one-and-only playthrough, likely with help from Walkthroughs based on this fact). OVERALL: An amazing puzzle game with uniqueness in both its gameplay and artistic world, definitely deserves any awards/nominations it got and is definitely worth buying (although you can get it really cheap with discounts, so probably wait) for an amazing experience which has ~11 hours of gameplay (at least thats what it took me). 7.7/10 Game.

A fun point and click with a cool art direction and interesting aesthetic. Overall it's decently fair, but there are a couple sections that either break it's logical conventions (for example, one "puzzle" requires you talk to an NPC, instead of use an item on something like every other puzzle in the game) or just devolve into straight pixel hunts (the wolf dream sequence is the absolute worst at this). This makes parts of the game into just clicking on literally everything to see what happens, which doesn't feel particularly clever. Overall, despite those minor gripes, I enjoyed it enough. It took me about 8 hours to beat it, taking my time the entire way, but i won't lie it's a little inflated due to the incredibly slow animations and copious amounts of backtracking. I didn't find it too bad, I mean backtracking and slow pace is kind of a thing in point and clicks so it's not tooooo shocking. Also didn't encounter any major bugs. The only issue I had was a duplicate item, but it didn't matter much since the puzzle it was for was pretty obvious
