I’ve still got one more level to go but wanted to do a review. I wish I hadn’t waited as long to play this and held off because of the mostly positive reviews. I can’t disagree more with that. It might be a simple and repetitive stealth game, but it sure is fun for old school stealth fans like me. I’ve had an absolute blast playing it and I know I’ll be revisiting this game many more times. If I had one critique it’s that the secondary weapons and traps are very confusing in how to use them. I’m playing with a controller and don’t see a button that’s used for them. I was able to lay down a few bombs but not even sure how I did it. I may pick up the game on PlayStation for a second playthrough so I can use all the extras. Regardless, it was still so much fun just using the grappling hook to distract and sometimes kill enemies or just basic stealth kills. I also loved the aesthetic of the medieval town and the warm candlelight from the windows. It just oozes atmosphere with that alone. The AI was pretty dumb but I was ok with that as it made it way less frustrating. All in all it’s one of the best stealth games I’ve ever played.

Good to pick up on sale. It's a challenging game with either approach (stealth by sneak vs stealth by no witnesses), but remains fun enough. Light on the story, and the crafting is vestigial at best, but still a fun game. I'd say the 'no witnesses' route ends up being more fun as you can get creative as to how you take out the guards, while in the stealth run you eventually are trying to dodge so many fields of view that it can become frustrating (especially moving your kid sidekick, Lilly, around). Still, the no-kill route is worth doing for the challenge.

It is good to see stealth type games still being made such as Styx Master Of Shadows and this one. It's not perfect by any means, there are some issues with the AI, but even the great Thief Gold had that so this is a welcome addition. It has some re-playability, you can play levels sparing all guards by using distraction methods or do the complete opposite while using traps or dropping from height takedowns. All in all a nice fun game. Everything seems to be in order.
