The negative reviews on this game make no sense. I'm convinced most people leaving this a bad review have never even installed the game at this point. People are complaining the game is dead, but all you have to do is login and hit quick match to disprove that. You get into a game in less than a minute on a bad day, and usually in less than 10 seconds. People are complaining the game is "boring after the campaign". Wtf? The campaign is the most boring part of the game. The multiplayer is the core experience and loads of fun. People are complaining you have to sign into Epic account. Erm, no you don't? I'm not signed into Epic anyway. People are complaining about crashes. I haven't had a single crash in 120 hours. ... TL;DR - it's a fun co-op horde shooter to waste 20-30 minutes for a match in. It's not trying to be Helldivers. It's not trying to be a competitive extraction shooter. It's just, build a base, defend the base, then run to the ship while 100 bugs bite your ass.

This is the Starship Troopers game I wanted 20 years ago - And I mean that 100% in a GOOD WAY. The single player campaign is really just a tutorial - and it serves that purpose just fine. The multiplayer is where this game really shines. 16 troopers Choose your class to fit your style of play. Different gun choices Great sound design Crisp movement, decent hitboxes and reasonable player mobility Customization of your loadout/gun, perks, and utility Even on a humble medium-graphics setting this game still looks fantastic! At the end of the day - if you are a fan of the movies, or even just the first movie, YOU SHOULD GET THIS GAME. I got it on sale, but honestly, even if I paid full price i would NOT regret it! This game is a proper love letter to the movies. I would LOVE if they added an immersive story-driven signle player campaign to this game. However, on just the merits of how good the multiplayer is - GET THIS GAME! :)

I really wish there was a 50/50 option because when ST:E works. It really shines. Combat is frantic and heart pounding. The music is on point and I have genuinely not felt such ability to spark kinship with randoms than with this game. Everyone saying quotes from the movie and just having fun while shooting bugs is such a wonderful experience. It has the distinction of being a game based on a movie that seems to actually respect the source material (1997 movie. not book or CGI films. But that's fine.) The explosions all around feel impactful. The bugs piling up and needing to be cleared is excellent. The sound design is wonderful and the models for everything are lovely. Clearly a lot of passion went into this game. That, I do believe. is not in dispute by anyone. But then theirs the jank. (some of these are just my personal preference.) Why does my stim gun work like that? Why does medics body armour make them look fat instead of protected? Why does aiming my drone with it's limited uses have to be so inaccurate? Why design a class to work like this? Medic is the most awful version of the classic healer I have ever played in my life. I need to heal troopers more than revive them. Why in the name of all the gods above and below is my only options for that: 1. run up and jam a needle into them. Which more often than not leave me at the mercy of bugs from a thankless teammate who's already running away now. 2. place a station and let them heal themselves. Which my fellow healers will agree with me. relies on the subpar intellect of someone who isn't a healer. and thus cannot be trusted to tie their own shoes. or 3. use a stim gun which hits every tuesday when mars is in close orbit, the stars are aligned and mercury is in bloodydamn retrograde as it is. Then it's limited to 10 shots. You will miss five of those while stood close enough to headbutt the trooper you are trying to heal. Whoever designed the stim gun is a bug sympathiser. Please adjust medic in a future update. Why is there no crouch toggle? there is ADS and sprint toggle. Why can I not opt to have my crouch be as i'm holding it down? Why do the bugs jitter towards me like they're ice skating in the most terrifying display iv'e ever seen? Why do some bugs have immortality? Who designed the rain of fire and lost life tickets bug and where do they sleep? I just want to talk to them... So many little problems add up to make what could be an excellent game into an experience of high highs and low lows. Is it worth £15-£20? Absolutley. With some friends. Or if you like randoms. Should you buy it? that question can be answered very simply. Do like Starship Troopers? Yes: Buy it Never seen it: Go watch it. Then come back and buy it.

started playing April 20th after seeing the man himself General Rico streaming on twitch. Loaded into a pitch black game as a sniper and it was terrifying. I was hooked. The Good *The game is really a 16 player game everyone MUST do there part. AS john helldiver I would find myself completing entire missions solo in HD2. Good luck doing that in SSTE. (as a medic with bug deterrent I still run off solo...shhh) *Building and holding your base against a massive swarm it holding and everyone gets out is such a good time. *The most recent updates/ NVIDIA update has solved most of my crashes *The 1.5 update has brought more power to each trooper be it the morita II or snipers explosive Rounds *Weapons are about as effective as they are in the movies which makes you feel weak but that's kinda the point there are 16 of you work together! *Everyone plays a key part to successfully completing the mission and leaving 16 IN 16 OUT The Bad *game breaking bugs. The engine freaking out and launching your body into space. Things falling through the map. *random crashes for a lot of people. Which I believe was something to do with DX12 (forcing DX11 made my game rock solid stable) *can become incredibly laggy. Like rubber banding and cant scale walls bad. *mantling is so incredibly slow. Its so frustrating when your running from something bobbing and weaving and ope "gotta mantle this" and your dead. *interact times are also super slow and the range is small you basically have to stand completely still. *sometimes your weapon perks break ie sniper explosive rounds At the current $20 price tag Its a very fun and enjoyable game. Even better with a full team lead by the hero of planet P On the bounce, Trooper o7

Played since launch and it's come along nicely. Helldivers has overshadowed this game with the variety of enemies and maps, but this is the classic Starship Troopers experience. Simple objectives, teamwork, and hordes of bugs trying to rip your face off. I'm doing my part!
