So much nostalgia. Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader were the gaming cornerstones of my childhood! Anyone who likes strategy games but hasn't played it yet I highly recommend it, these games charm is unmatched, played it in 2000s and I was spending hours just making most unpenetrable castles for absolutely no reason but fun, never got into other Stronghold games but this and the Crusader are my absolute favorite to this day. Looking forward to Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition.

The Definitive Edition didn't fix or update quite as many things about the original Stronghold as I'd have liked, and the new content is somewhat lacklustre. Nevertheless, if you want to play the original Stronghold, this is absolutely the version to get. It's not a modern game, and it doesn't pretend to be, for better and worse. But, looking at it as impartially as my nostalgia-tainted self can manage, this is the best version of Stronghold 1 available.

Do you like age of empires 2? Do you like easy to wrap your head around city builders? Do you always turtle? Are you okay with early 2000's graphics and bugs? I am. Good game.

Now all we need is Stronghold Crusader remaster and the GOATS of castle builders will be complete. I can´t even count how many hours i put into playing Crusader years before it recieved HD remaster, it was a big part of my childhood and i am looking forward for the Crusader remaster like many others.

It's good old Stronghol with improved visuals. BUT! There is no skirmish against AI, and Crusader isn't part of it. Sad.
