Its a very fun game. The dialogues are unhinged and the overall story-line is not over the top. (yes this game is somewhat story based). There are 4 maps of which last 2 are HUGE. You actually have to plan every move and advance your frontline SLOWLY. The mechanized infantry must move together. Otherwise troops get mowed or vehicles get sniped by ATGMs. Even normal mode is very intense. But, i would like to point out some major issues :- 1. The AI path direction is very unbearable (for vehicles especially). Say youre directing a tank to get to a firing position while there is a sudden ambush. Instead of taking the shortest and safest path, it will take some other long path and head directly into the enemy's line of fire just to get blown up. And moving vehicle around in the game in general is a pain. 2. HORRIBLE OPTIMISATION. In the first few maps i was getting 100+ fps highest settings 1440p. in the last Damascus map, i was getting 10 fps even on low med and high settings 1440p. (i have an RTX 3060 ti). It seems as if the settings dont change anything at all, neither visually nor performance wise. I found a fix for it though. I installed DXVK into the game and made it run on Vulkan. I was getting constant 30+fps on the highest settings 1440p in the Damascus map. 3. UI is terrible. Such a great game but the experience is diminished by a terrible UI choice. Makes it seem like some cheap free game you got from your friend on a pen-drive. And the worst part--- YOU CANT CHANGE THE CONTROLS! Luckily most keyboards have hotkeys to switch Arrow keys and WASD keys. Otherwise one would be stuck using arrow keys to move around in the map. 4. A minor issue but it would be great if DLCs were accessible from main game menu. May or may not be possible but just a recommendation. Apart from these things, the overall experience was enjoyable. Ive played this for 20+hrs and enjoyed every bit of it. (keeping aside the pain of expensive T72s getting one-shotted). Even got the DLCs for my holidays ahead.

After Sony banned me from spreading democracy in Helldivers, I decided to spread democracy in Syria. And you know what? It felt good.
