Depends On What You Are Looking For In This Game So here is the thing about this game: 1) If "singleplayer" experience is what you are looking for -> This ain't it (more built for multiplayer and sadly there is no way to have CPU players play as other characters). 2) If "story" experience is what you are looking for -> This ain't it (very short/basic story, but the dialogue/character artwork is nice). 3) If "couch co-op" experience is what you are looking for -> This does the job good enough (but you can lose track of your character due to camera not following your specific character). 4) If "online co-op" experience is what you are looking for -> This does the job the best (because in online at least each player has their own screen where the camera can follow their own character + bigger chance of getting a full party for the run). Overall, I don't think this is a "bad" game by any means and it is very solid as a "multiplayer-focused" beat 'em up game, but I will say the online experience can feel "unresponsive/laggy" at times and AFK players can ruin the experience by wasting other players time waiting for them to do a power selection (only way to deal with those is to "kick them out" if you are the host of the run). Anyways, the game is fun for short burst online gaming sessions, but I would recommend getting it on a sale/discount if you are still interested in it after all what I've said above. Final Rating: 7.5/10. (P.S: If you were looking for a more "singleplayer/story-driven" TMNT experience, then either go play "TMNT: Shredder's Revenge" OR go fire-up a PS2 emulator and play the LEGENDARY "TMNT 2: Battle Nexus (PS2)", aka THE greatest TMNT game ever made to date IMO)

Sewer jokes aren't my favorite but they're a solid number two. This is easily my new favorite TMNT game. I love the new rogue lite features and I love seeing what new build I end up with in each run. The art style is fantastic and the boss fights are tons of fun. If you enjoy the turtles games then you will almost certainly love the crap out of this one!

First things first: if you haven't played Hades, you should probably play that before this game... unless you are a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. That's the one major exception. Now, let's get to the point: This is a TMNT roguelike with some seriously impressive art that reminds me of the old Mirage Studios comics, mixed with the style of the newer IDW series. In my opinion, the visual design is just sublime. Originally, the game was meant to be a single-player experience (like Hades ), but it eventually evolved into a co-op game, which makes it way more appealing if you like playing with others. The story draws inspiration from different TMNT generations and series, but it is not tied to any specific version you might know. You will run into some iconic characters, all brought to life with that amazing art style I mentioned earlier. As for gameplay, everything feels smooth (though there are a few minor bugs here and there), and there is a good variety of abilities to mess around with. I highly recommend playing with a controller. One of the strongest aspects of this game is the dev team. If you hop into the official Discord, it won't take long to notice: these devs love TMNT, and they clearly love their own game. They are constantly updating it , listening to the community , and best of all, if an ingame build is OP, they don't nerf it , they just buff the others to make everything more fun! That said, not everything is perfect. Some things just didn't land for me, even if they are subjective: Difficulty The game starts off pretty tough, but once you have unlocked everything, it barely offers a challenge. I think an Endless Mode would help fix this. Enemy variety You will be fighting the same enemies over and over. Even with the Casey DLC, they are basically the same mobs with punk wigs. Not bad, but I wish there were more enemy types and bosses too. Bugs There are some annoying bugs (like super long load times), though most of them affect co-op mode specifically. Conclusion Do I recommend the game? Yes, I do, mainly because it is still evolving. Just don't go in expecting to be blown away if you have already played Hades. Think of this as a solid co-op roguelike set in the TMNT universe, and you will have a good time!

A fun, if flawed game. The bones of a really good game are in here, and I certainly enjoyed my time with it, but there's just a few things that hold it back: - Powers seem unbalanced. Max-upgraded ooze is just better than pretty much anything else. - Too many AOEs. Almost impossible to dodge all the damage coming in by about 3/4ths through a run. - Not enough story. When you mimic Hades, you'd better have a lot of custom dialogue, and this game falls sadly short of that. Sad, I say, because what dialogue there is, is pretty good! As a TMNT fan I was enjoying it. So yeah, good game, just not a great game. Get it on sale.
