It's good, but needs updates. TerraTech Legion is definitely worth the price for the amount of content you get, but as a "Survivors-like," it still feels a bit behind the curve. While building your own car and seeing all those cool weapons in action is super fun, the game is missing essential genre staples like a way to ban or block parts you don’t want. Since you can’t filter out items, you’re often forced to take gear that doesn't fit your build, and the lack of a recycling system to turn those unwanted pieces into something useful makes the late-game feel a bit more frustrating than it should be. My biggest gripe, though, is a major oversight in the building mechanics: if I want to shift a whole section of my car just one block back, I have to tear the entire thing down and rebuild it piece by piece from memory. It’s a tedious hurdle for a game centered on construction, and it makes me really wish there was a proper sandbox mode where I could freely experiment with builds and parameters before testing them out. It’s a solid game with a lot of potential, but it needs some serious quality-of-life updates to truly compete with the best in the genre. Edit: Since my launch review, a lot has changed for the better. The developers actually listened to community feedback, and they have already added block banning and a recycling system. Honestly, it is awesome to see. They continue to update the game rigorously. The future looks incredibly bright for this one. The game is in a really good place right now, and it is clearly only going to get better from here. I still think it needs a Creative Mode tho.

This game is incredible and absolutely worth your time if you are a fan of bullet heavens, as well as vehicular combat. It has some of the deepest and wackiest customization available in the genre, multiple maps, characters, an awesome endless mode, and tons of builds to pursue. There are also a number of shortcomings I could address that generally pale in comparison to the sheer immensity that makes up TerraTech's quality, but I'm only going to talk about one: The Triarch Warden. This boss is a walking disaster of bugginess, inconsistency, and ill thought out design. Its core mechanic is that it hunkers down, becomes invulnerable and summons a bunch of minions. Upon annihilating said minions, the Warden will get up, become vulnerable, and start attacking with a spinning laser which you can avoid simply enough while being able to damage it. This design in of itself is acceptable, even though it becomes an absolute atrocity in longer endless runs because its minions have their health scaled into the high heavens. But the issue is that the vast majority of the time it simply does not follow that cycle. Sometimes it flies around in the sky and doesn't land, essentially making it unkillable. Sometimes when you kill its minions, it skips its vulnerability phase and just flies up into the air and lands somewhere else to summon even more, leaving you with a literal split second to deal any damage to it. On rare occasions it remains vulnerable even while hunkered down, which is nice, but ultimately just speaks to how wildly inconsistent this boss is. Most egregiously there seems to be some sort of issue with how the game processes things while you're in a level up menu. You would assume that the game is paused, but bosses in particular feel like they have their actions "reset" whenever you enter an upgrade zone. Many of my runs have only ended because I accidentally leveled up, and then had a Warden land directly on top of me upon exiting despite it being hunkered down and far away from me. Other bosses follow this same routine, with their AOE indicators instantly snapping to you or just suddenly being inside of you no matter their prior positioning. I would love to have some communication from the devs over addressing the state of the Warden in particular, as I can deal with the rest of this game's quirks without much issue. But when it comes to a boss that drives my runs to a halt because of frustrating, inconsistent mechanics there's not much I can do besides hope that I get lucky enough to never see one spawn. Otherwise TerraTech is a 10/10, and I very much hope to see it developed further. Some of the most fun I've had in what's essentially a golden age for bullet heaven games.

I love this game. NEver got bored; always adapt myself with whatever random blocks that are given, and come up with a build on the spot. I mean, is that not toguelike that idk what it is. Really fun to play. Wish it had coop feature.

+ Fun gameplay + Vehicle modification is easy to use + Various "build types" are possible (frontal assault, broadside, etc) + No unnecessary handholding tutorials - Meta is pretty weak - Until the (planned) possibility to ban some pieces, unlocking more "rewards" you with never finding the one you need - The "skill trees" on characters have no cap so you just choose the order in which you unlock stuff.
