I first know about this game way back when rpg makers were more popular. Saw the remake on steam and I thought why not. It is wonderful. The graphic has improved a lot and the additional stories gave the story and game more depth that I enjoy learning and knowing everyone in this game. I have a soft spot for our boy, Koutaro and without spoiling too much I think you will love him too. All in all, I highly recommend playing this game if you are a rpgmaker fan.

Forest of Drizzling Rain is a beautifully emotional game that explores grief, loss, and the search for healing. As someone who has personally dealt with loss in early adulthood, I felt an immediate connection to the main character. Her journey through sorrow, confusion, and finding a sense of peace mirrored a lot of what I’ve experienced. The game truly made me feel seen in ways that not many others do. The story itself is compelling and tender, with the atmosphere carrying a subtle, melancholic weight. The supporting characters add so much warmth to an otherwise heavy narrative, and their relationships with the main character give the story a much-needed balance. However, I do want to give a heads-up: if you’ve recently experienced a loss, especially if it was traumatic, it might be a good idea to wait before playing. The game delves deeply into emotions tied to grief, and some of the themes can be triggering if you’re still processing something raw. It’s a beautiful experience, but it may be a lot to handle too soon. That being said, the game touched me on a personal level in ways that were unexpected. It doesn’t just tell a story—it acknowledges the complexity of grief and gives space to feel those emotions. If you’ve experienced loss, this game might resonate with you deeply. Just be mindful of where you are emotionally before diving in.

This was such an amazing remake of the original... i love it so much. Ive played it so much and it gives me such comfort and nostalgia. I love these kinds of games.

it´s been my favorite rpg since i played the old version, back in 2017, and i really really like this remake loved how they added so many new areas to explore, and u can even go fish now!! the characters already looked so good in game, i really like the new art for the game (i honestly could spend hours just fishing tbh xP)

Like most of Japanese RPG Maker horror games, The Forest of Drizzling Rain is mainly an adventure game. This means you should be able to enjoy it, even if you don't like horror, as long as you can tolerate a little bit of it, and like a good mystery, interesting characters, story and dialogues. There's really not much gameplay aside from walking around, solving a couple of simple puzzles and playing an even simpler fishing mini-game, but it's enough for a story-focused game like this. Objectively: 8.5/10
