Best and most original game I've played in a long while. Don't let the naysayers dissuade you. I'm pretty sure the only people not liking this game are kids that can't play games well and/ or don't have the patience for these sort of games and so? It's just easier to dislike it. What's not to like? This game is Kill Bill, meets Suicide Squad, meets John Wick, wrapped up in a Ninja Gaiden and Contra kind of way. The 1980s flare is really nice. The combat is as creative and articulate as your imagination is. You can go in swinging and rolling without any thought, and hope that complete randomness gets you to the next checkpoint, or win you that boss fight? Or you can actually learn the combos, have a little more control over your character and look badass while doing it. I don't know why, but I love the main character. I don't harbor many feelings about any of the companions, apart from maybe the weaponsmith, which is the only other person with any personality (likable or otherwise). The main character, Stone, also has almost zero personality, yet? She has depth. Everyone else just feels like they're just there. Combat is tough. I'm not yet playing on Japanese Hard mode. I don't want to hate myself just yet, and I find myself doing that sort of thing less and less in my 40s, but 20 year-old me would have been down for some good ol controller throwing and wall punching sessions :P I hated it yet thrived on it. This game reminds me a lot of Ninja Gaiden: Black, and like Ninja Gaiden? I'm sure Japanese hard mode will drive you insane. Maybe not so much in that i-frame kind of way, or to where the boss goes by no rules and seemingly ignores and/ or overrides your entrance moves, in prioritization of its own "strike first" policy, and to where stunning or grabbing doesn't work on them... Although? Half of this is true here, as you can't necessarily stun nor grab a boss in the way you can other enemies, at least not until you've reached a certain tier of total damage and at which point? You then begin a phase 2 of the fight. There controls are not without its faults however. The camera, when rolling/ dodging, especially during a boss fight, likes to just zip off into the opposite direction, leaving you to wonder where the boss or baddie is in relationship to where you've just ended up, or if you even ended up rolling in the direction you intended, since now you're disoriented. This is frustrating because I'll go and try and set myself up to roll in behind the boss, but the camera 180s into another direction. I would have also liked a strafing ability, but as it is? Your directional mobility is equivalent to playing on a Nintendo 64 or Dreamcast controller, and/ or like controlling a classic Resident Evil game, in that you only have the one stick controlling your direction. Rolling is also clunky because the primary dodge button also rolls, with dodge being a single-tap and rolling being a double-tap. I feel like they needed to be split (at least for gamepad). Not sure if it's just me? But I have a transparent box appearing in the lower left of my 21:9 monitor and the outside quarter of the left and right side of my screen shimmers/ flickers. I think because of this transparent box that's being rendered. I also crashed due to some insufficient memory resource bug, on a 5090, while using the latest (8/2/25) drivers, which isn't right, since you don't get much more VRAM than a 5090 these days. Maybe there's a memory leak somewhere? I would love to see some DLC. Maybe some outfits and extra skins at the very least and most certainly I'd love to see a Wanted: Dead 2. I feel like the current game could use some refinement/ patching but I guess development is done, since it's two years later. I am a little confused about which Asian culture this game is representing. There's anime segments telling a backstory, your main character at one point references wanting sushi and eats ramen, they go into the history of Japan and Ramen, there's a mode called "Japanese Hard Mode," there are ninjas and you wield a kitana, but we work for Hong Kong police in China? Being half Asian, were this not an Asian made game? I would think this was a little ignorant with the "All Asians are Chinese," Hollywood-esque misrepresentation lol.

NGL, at first I hated this game. But once I got a feel for the combat flow, I quickly fell in love with it. The enemies are SUPER spongy, requiring you to look for an opportunity to put them into a weakened state where they be instantly killed with a flashy finishing maneuver. Once I understood this, the game is a ton of fun as Hannah whisks around the battlefield delivering brutal takedowns to multiple foes. I definitely can see the "so bad it's good" argument, but this game has a lot of charm. I found myself wanting more after the credits rolled.

It's rough, it's unpolished, it's unfinished, it's borderline incomprehensible... but it's got a lot of heart.

It's such a odd game. performance is much better now after a few patches, but still kinda janky. It's fun but obviously needed more time to cook. This game definitely won't work for some, and rightfully so. But I have a good time with it, even with it's nonsense at times. I'd give this one a 6.5/10

This game is not perfect, and that is why I recommend it. Too many games (especially action games) are so afraid to do anything wrong that they do nothing interesting. This game is not like that. They chose to do some weird stuff and it is kind of janky, but the game is unique and memorable. This game reminds me a lot of WET on the Xbox 360. A slightly off and kind of out of place action game, but if you play it through, you will definitely remember it for a long time to come. 7/10 would recommend.
