7 hour review: Right now I'm just trying to figure out how to "connect-the-dots" to make a commercial flight work. The game feels rewarding when 1 or 2 of the 4 red alerts turns to green, but also very confusing trying to figure out what exactly the game is complaining about that still needs to be fulfilled before a flight is 100% ready to go. Locked Stands: There's a condition where an airplane stand can't be turned off, because there's an airplane assigned to it, and when the airplane goes to leave an incoming airplane IMMEDIATELY ties up the stand. So if the stand was set up for noncommercial flights and you want to switch it to commercial, it's a pain. Ideally the game would let you "disable immediately after current customer leaves" but there's no such feature, so it is relatively annoying, and certainly not fun - it's just a stupid bug the developer didn't think of, or the developer likes to punish the players with this as a "feature". I have to say, just as soon as I saw people landing at the airport, leaving their plane and walking through the hallways, or people arriving in their cars and checking in for their flights, I was very stoked! This game is hugely satisfying! 2 Hour review: Very enjoyable game! All I needed to do to "get in" was to watch about 30 minutes of tutorials on youtube, which told me all I needed (at least for playing the first 2 hours - there's a LOT more content I haven't covered yet). The videos also filled in some of the gaps that are missing in the game's built-in tutorials. The tutorials aren't great in the game, so I recommend finding videos. Although you might be able to figure it out, if you're determined enough. I've gotten as far at the 2 hour mark to build a simple airport for small planes and lear-jets, where they can refuel. Eventually I'll be adding a terminal for commercial flights. I'm quite happy I bought this game! It's a lot of fun to watch the flights coming in and departing! Also if I pause the game while a plane was taking off - I can scroll the map around and see that the plane's location in the sky is 3D! That's so cool! There is a lot of detailed flavor like the hot jet exhaust distorting the air too. I think there are quite a lot of negative reviews because the game is clunky in places - but if you like the concept and can get over the learning curve there's some enjoyment to be had here, and right away after setting up my current layout I'm already thinking of ways I'd like to improve it to make things more efficient. Maybe I saw this description somewhere else, but it seems to fit: the game is a lot like Dwarf Fortress only for airports instead of dwarves.
