This is one of my favorite games of all time. I recognize that it's not perfect, and may not click with everybody so well. But for me, its mix of Zelda 2-style platforming and combat, sound and language puzzles, serene and surreal environments, and soothing music... it just touches my soul. I keep coming back to it for additional replays both here and on other platforms. The itch hits me every couple of years, and I have to keep coming back to scratch it. The game continues to be a bright spot for me, a comforting refuge away from the challenges of the world. There's a handful of annoying design problems, like a clumsy final boss and an unreasonably tricky section in a bonus world. The most recent version has an NPC tutorializing you for a bit at the start, which breaks the immersion and feeling of solitude. People who struggle with musical tones should be able to complete the main game, but might find side content like the fireflies too frustrating with no visual cues. But these few minor problems don't come close to ruining the experience. It may not be a perfect game, but it's damn near perfect for me. Highly recommended for those who feel like they can see the beauty in it.

Fascinating metroidvania that is one of the few taking deeply from Zelda II. The world is evocative, the sound design and sprites are good, and the game itself has a lot of faith in the player to make connections and explore on their own. A lot of older reviews on QoL like lacking a map have been adjusted in updates, and while it remains esoteric it's by no means unfair. I am unfortunately experiencing some odd crashes, but I hope that's incidental. The overall game remains very compelling.

Nintendo refused to make another game like Zelda II so God's strongest Zelda II fan did it themselves. It's not perfect, it has some awkward and rough edges but I enjoyed it thoroughly. It looks great, the pixel art and animations are smooth and satisfying. Exploring is fun and the world offers a lot of thing to find.

Teddy is ready for Freddy. Game is a sequel to Finding Teddy. 2D action platformer that takes inspiration from other games like Zelda and such. Gameplay is decent and controls are smooth. Visuals are pixelated and remind of classics from 16-bit era. Sprites are nice to look at and animated really well. Game doesn't have much details in graphics thus visuals are more on simplified side with more focus put on lighting. While exploring the world you find new upgrades and move on ahead bravely with your floating teddy Freddy aside (mysterious atmosphere is filling the air). Difficulty is ok for anyone who enjoys a bit of challenge but not too much. Music plays occasionally, not always. Some effort was put into sounds - they're neat and makes up for more immersive gameplay (seriously). Recommended obviously.

I honestly feel that a "mixed" score for this game is not representative, though its hard to accurately represent what I feel about it with the simple "thumbs up/down" system. Negative reviews on steam do address some of the jank that is in the game, and they do a fair assessment. But its still a good game, with lots to love, and where you can really feel that the developers cared about it. It has beautiful art and animation, and I absolutely love the cute characters. The music is also great, and the map layout and metroidvania aspects encourage you to explore. The music puzzles and lexicon is also a great and innovative idea. As many have pointed out, there are some frustrating aspects of enemy behaviour and placement, and quite a lot of RNG in enemy actions. (I would love for the blue and green blobs you find in 3rd and 4th chapter to vanish off the face of the planet and never see the light of day again). Certain enemy placements were also really frustrating and detract from the experience of certain puzzles. Also, the grace period after you take damage is also really short, and you can easily be stun locked. To some extent, my frustrations are also from speedrunning the game, and might be less present in a usual playthrough. Honestly. So much of this game would be fixed with some dodge mechanic. I realise that I am about 10 years late with this review, but I also feel that it deserves a better score than "mixed" on steam.
