A more serious twist on the Coffee Talk visual novel formula. Overall, where Coffee Talk 1 and 2 are funnier, even if still real, 3 is an overall more serious take on the genre, tackling harder and more nuanced topics, such as chronic disabilities. It's also more inclusive, has better art, and factors in whether you've read Tomodachill posts in the talks. Overall, a game about grieving. But in a cozy and safe atmosphere.

They have absolutely outdone themselves with this one. Something I love about The Coffee Talk serie is that it does not necessarily try to constantly reinnovate themselves, it is always the old reliable, with a bit more added to it: new ingredients, new patrons, and new social commentary. It is my favorite serie out of all the barista/bartender simulator, as it does not shy away from the difficulties of different people's realities. The emotional maturity through the entire writing is astounding. The narrative won't shy away from the difficulties of working class and disabled individuals, while also not minimizing or invalidating struggles from people in places of privilege. And I think that is the key to Coffee Talk: it is not about who struggles more or less in their story, but how about we all navigate life best we could and try to make do, but also grow. This time around, the themes of performance anxiety, disability, work culture, finding friends at adult age, grief, intergenerational conflict, intergenerational trauma, disability, chronic pain... is incredibly good. I adore it. The way it is brought up with so much humanity is so heartwarming and pleasant, while *hope* is seeping through every encounter. As much as I very much enjoyed and hold dear the previous Coffee Talk, the social justice matters have always been on the safe side to my taste; forbidden love between two conformative straight people, tokenism is towards a white character, the most overt queer culture rep being hidden under subtext... it is not the case anymore, and I could not be happier. In this day and age where anxiety disorders are more and more rampant, having a cast coming from all different backgrounds finding solace in their interests, making connection, and stopping to rest is dearly needed, and I really think that everyone should pick up this game. The characters are so accessible and grounded, even someone not into those simulations, hell even someone not into anime style, will find some heartwarming rest in this. The pixel art and animation gets better and better every time, you really can tell the dev team having fun with this. The designs are both colorful but still grounded, something that always has been in Coffee Talk. Talking about characters, I immensely appreciate and love how the diverse representation when it comes to sexuality and gender is more overt than in previous titles, while not making the characters only about this. It is so refreshing and nice. This is a must buy for anyone into character writing or in need of *rest*, no matter where you come from.

Having played the other 2 games in this series I was pretty excited for this one and I was not disappointed. Something about the stories in this one really drew me in and hit me right in the feels. These games, if nothing else, have so much heart but luckily everything else is awesome too! the chill, lofi music is perfect, the art is always nice, I loved the characters and the gameplay is interesting, if challenging at times. If you like the others or Va-11 Hall-A You would probably like this and if you haven't played any of those games, you don't need to, this one has a couple cameos from the previous 2 Coffee Talk games but it is an independent story. If a nice visual novel with some coffee barista gameplay sounds interesting its worth it!

I don't normally take the time to write reviews for games, if im being honest - and considering I played both CT1 and CT2 on the xbox, i guess i didnt really consider it. That said, I love CT1 and CT2 to death. They are some of my favourite games of all time, and CTT? Is easily by miles my fave of the three. All of the characters felt so incredibly well written, and i'd be lying if i said i didnt cry multiple times playing this. I'm not even lying when i say i wrote a small essays worth of ranting about this game and the characters to my friends lmfao. I suppose if i had to have any criticism, i'd say that I felt less invested in some stories compared to others. But even then, they were all exceptional, and i think i'm only saying that because i wanted to get to see the happy endings for them all. This is genuinely an exceptional game. If you want something chill and cozy to play, this is definitely one you should play. CT1 and CT2 as well, if youre willing to spend for them. I highly recommend them all.

For fans of the original duology, Tokyo forgoes subtlety and finesse in favour of direct emotional impact, and for the most part it works. I always like to think the first game is meeting the best friends you've never had, and EP2 is a reunion with them. For Tokyo I am compelled by a lot of the emotions evoked by the cast, but I have to say I don't feel the same coziness that I found in the previous games. This is not to to say that it's worse, it's different, like the change of city itself. I can't see anyone who enjoyed the previous game not enjoying Tokyo, but as a long time fan I still would like to point that out. The first few days’ writing suffers from the lack of finesse but it does quickly recover as the story goes on.
