Get it, just not now. The game is good, some aspects are exceptionally well done, is fun and enjoyable. Some small bugs may hamper your playing experience, some achievements are bugged and unachievable. The developers have published a roadmap to fix the faulty aspects, come back and get it once all bugs have been fixed, is a must have. If you plan to get it before all the fixes, wait for a discount.

I highly recommend this game... just not right now. I have been following the development of this game closely for roughly 2 years now, and it was my most anticipated game of 2024. It delivered a bloodborne x sekiro combat system that I absolutely love, along with a good story, interesting lore, and a gorgeous world that I want to explore more of. However, with my bias now being addressed, this game isn't worth the $50 price tag. This is the devs first game, and that unfortunately really shows. The game lacks polish. Features that should have been included in the game on launch day were pushed onto a road map to be released in increments throughout the next year or so. The first big patch on this roadmap is a quality of life patch releasing in November with items that should have been in the game to begin with, and the polish patch is estimated to be released in January. Yes. January of 2025. Then the final planned patch to be released is a moveset expansion and voice actor patch, because for some reason, the game shipped with only 2 or 3 NPCs having voice lines. I don't now why the game was released this early when it should have been released next year. With that being said, I still love this game, but if you are on the edge about it, give it a year and come back to it. I think by then the game will be polished enough (hopefully) to be worth your time.

I enjoyed and finished it, 21 hours in my 1st run. The Good: - Spectacular visuals, it makes me want to visit the Mediterranean again. - Weapons look great, plenty of variety - Combat is mostly good - The music is very good however can be a bit repetitive early on. The Bad: - The status effect ring is a bit annoying if you don't have a weapon upgraded for the effect you need. - Dodging seems mostly pointless or its so tight its just to hard to do, you generally just parry, run out or take the hit. - Overhead slams should be easily avoided in any Soulslike by stepping or dodging sideways, not in this game. Mob will instantly pivot and nail you every time. - Most of the mobs have way too much poise / stagger resistance. A large weapon should interrupt a skinny priest in a robe swinging a mace.

If you play "Soulslike" games with a controller I would highly recommend checking this game out. So far its beautiful and fun however... If you are like me and enjoy playing games on M&KB you'll be a little bummed with this one. As of right now there does not seem to be a way to remap keybinds and a lot of the binds are a bit funky. Overall I'd still recommend but keyboard players beware. HOPEFULLY they patch in the ability to rebind keys in the future.....
