I can't BELIEVE this game isn't better than the second one!!! I tried the demo for Mortal Shell 2 and it was good, why is this game bad???? Why isn't the first game from the studio better than Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 combined?? I GOT SCAMMED!!!!! But seriously the game is pretty fun. Definitely flawed and a little short but I had a good time. The only unforgivable feature is the viewbotting Fextralife link at the main menu, yikes!

I would say this game is a fairly decent soulslike. It does not do anything particularly groundbreaking. However, the graphics are solid. The gameplay is competent enough. I enjoyed my playthrough. It has many of the features you'd generally expect of a soulslike, with the hub-based world and slow, methodical, weighty-feeling gameplay. The different shells are a nice touch as well, giving you some options about how to approach gameplay depending on whether you want a faster, lighter, more nimble character, or a slower, tankier one. The most notable aspect of the gameplay that you might find different from your bog standard souls like games is the hardening ability, which is essentially an ability that temporarily hardens you and acts as a shield. Getting into the groove of using hardening and parries effectively made for some fun enough gameplay. If you're big into soulslikes, you will probably like it. If you really need a game to do something profoundly unique or groundbreaking in order to be impressed, you may be underwhelmed, but it does everything it says on the tin just fine.

I remember starting Elden Ring when it was so popular that it was practically impossible not to hear about it or feel interested. After a couple of hours of play, I realized just how great this genre was and how much I loved it. It was my very first soulslike game. After finishing it, I decided to go back and start from the first Dark Souls. Dark Souls 1 was so special, such an immensely powerful experience and a journey that it became, and still is, my single favorite game in this genre. I hesitated to play Mortal Shell, not so great reviews, budget short game, you know, I thought, this might very well be just another studio trying to capitalize on the genre by making something mediocre, but I decided to give it a shot, and for that, I’m glad. Mortal Shell is something that is similar to Dark Souls 1, very authentic, very hardcore, it grips your heart and sets it in the same misery that bested Anor Londo, and yet it has a couple of original and new takes on the genre. It was indeed short, but it was kind of special nonetheless: the shell system, how the world is designed, no fast travel, the unlock system, and of course, the utter bleakness of it all, and Bloodborne inspirations, which the game wears, literally on its sleeve. What I came out with was a small dosage of Dark Souls 1 world and gameplay, draped in Bloodborne archaic sleeves of blood, gore, and lineage. If you loved Dark Souls, you will love this… and now, all that’s left to do is to sit by the bonfire, play the lute, and wait for Mortal Shell 2.

First of all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game is optiimized even i could get 35 40 fps WITHOUT STUTTERS at 1080p low , even my broke ass could run it. *NOW The Game it self is Good, unique mechanics and great voice acting and character, So would i recommend buying it? -Its Kinda 50/50. So before you buy know this (No spoilers) -The level design is confusing in early game and causes A LOT OF FRUSTRATION -(but you will get over it). -If you have patience the game is just on easy mode for you like its really easy -Limited WEAPONS (only 5) with limited Upgrades -Somewhat poorly explained item description; but that is this games "unique feature" -Short gameplay & lastlly -If you have played for a while this game WILL become repetitive STILL the game is beautifully crafted, Levels are absolutely homungous and grim Now as a person who spent 26 hours and completed his ascension and is NG+ i feel there are alot of things to be addressed - please add a little pop up for when you switch comsumeables its shows its function (if fimiliar) instead of having to consuem it. - NEW weapons and more upgrades - Adding passive abilities for infusion of seal because frankly i used parry for like 4 6 times in the ENTIRE game - Make the mobs faster by a tad bit - Make the boss arena kinda small too much room for running and dodging also make them a more hard "_" Also what the hell was the black whirpool kinda thing in fight against the unchained???????? I enjoyed the game it was fun and if there is one thing i absolutely abhoured was the need to grind for TAR like sh** man, but thats just me. overall 8.2/10
