Dante... you are a magical girl now Dante... Played the demo and got addicted. Usually sensate and smart people wait and see how early access games turn out, but this is one of the rare cases where the game is already worth the asking price and can only get better.

Usually this type of game isn't my thing, but since I played previous games from these devs, I wanted to give it a try, and, well, I'll like it so far. I know this is early access and the game isn't completed yet, but it does offer a lot. The whole opening was just awesome! The character designs and their voice actors are amazing as well, and I can't wait to meet them all! I haven't discovered a lot in my playtime, but I certainly died a few times. While a bullet hell game might not be my favorite genre, I do like the deck-building aspect.

When gameplay for Hell Maiden was first shown I was a bit apprehensive since I'm not a fan of bullet heaven games. What sets this game apart from others is its presentation. In particular, the gorgeous artwork in cutscenes and other assets. The solid voice acting, story, and characterization in a genre usually lacking those things altogether. The emotionally packed music accompanying your journey through hell. All of these elevate what would otherwise be a generic and forgettable experience. If you're apprehensive like I was I recommend at least giving Hell Maiden a try! I'm excited to see this game grow, it's worth the $10 as it is now.
