Yes it is a beautiful looking game, but it is definitely not early release in the way most think it is suppose to be. But let us break that down first. What is early release? Is it Alpha, Beta or just another name for both? I am 76 years old and have been a gamer all my life. I Alpha and Beta tested years ago when we got paid or rewarded with the game itself. That flew out the door a long time ago . Now we pay to test games and most people don't mind. I sure don't because I'm paying $20 or less for a full blown game when it grows up. lol It beats the $60-90 that some games cost today and there are still plenty of bugs and even flops. So back to this game. I think it is still in Alpha stage. It doesn't matter what anyone calls it Alpha, Beta, Early Release its all mute. It has a good concept clear the world of darkness and make it light again. It has a vast area to play in and explore. It doesn't have much in the world. A few deer a lot of goblins and a few golems. No npc's that I found in any of the towns. But I only played the demo and this for 2 hours so could have missed them. Never did find the pick to mine the ore lol either here or the demo so yea i'm old. The chests are scattered and I mean scattered. You can take out goblin camps and get nothing, you can destroy the stone above the tower and get nothing. You can destroy 100 goblins and get a few potions and arrows but I must say not enough arrows to actually use the bow unless you can one shot things which I can't. The weapons wheel is buggy but the Dev told me it is being worked on. Found a few towns with no people at all. I thought if I cleared the darkness and made the trees in the area white again everyone would come out of the buildings and praise me only to find a few goblin stragglers I missed greet me. That would be a good concept by the way. Clear the darkness and the goblins out of a town and everyone would come back. I didn't find shops to sell or buy anything even though the Dev told me they were there. I found a lot of buildings with signs like a pub and blacksmith shop etc but no shops to use. The fighting is ok but the goblins do shoot through obstacles and you can't lol. Not enough loot of any kind in the few chests you do find. Is the game a 10 of course not. But it can be. Give it time. You did not pay $60 plus for it. Just remember this. We are all testers now days. I live of grid and have been for the last six years. I have carry water to where I am. I have no electricity, sewage or garbage pickup. Nothin near me. I drive once a month to town for food and propane. However I have a small chest freezer, a refrigerator and 8000btu air conditioner, Starlink for internet, an xbox x, a Switch and a 1000 watt home built beats of a computer. It is called solar and it took me 6 years to build the system to handle all of that so I understand waiting and waiting just to turn on an xbox or a computer. You have to wait until the sun comes up and you best be gone before it goes down . Batteries are crazy expensive. I have enough to run the freezer, fridge and internet 24 hours a day. But if it is cloudy out no computer for the day so you wait. This game is not any different you wait and wait some more and hopefully the Devs will come through. You do have to understand this I have no income except the little I get from the VA. Well maybe the Dev is working and doing this part time or maybe it is full time for him too. The point is it is on early release and if it is there to help the dev out to make the game better so be it. Free beta testing went out long ago. Be happy that someone is at least making a game for you to enjoy or dislike. And please stop with all the whining about PVP or PVE sheesh I don't PVP why because there is enough brutality in the world. Team up and fight orcs, goblins, undead what ever. If you want to fight each other join the freaking army. I did for 8 years. I don't play games with pvp that is my choice. The game will be good or it will die and be gone but I have wasted more than $20 in my life for stupid stuff.

so.. beat the game in five hours. not a single line of quest text written.. zero voice acting... one melee attack ability.. one shield attack ability... no magic. no climbing. no crafting... 2 types of enemy... I have serious doubts that a 2 dev team is going to make significant impact on these lacking systems in any appreciable amount of time. But here's a thumbs up because I hope you prove me wrong. not the best 20 dollar bill i've ever spent. Not the worst either. best o luck, cheers

Decent Foundation. I have to be 100% clear on my experience from the get-go: The systems that ARE in the game currently feel fairly polished. >Character creation has a lot of options and a lots of races. >Combat feels slightly better than Conan Exiles, which is impressive for a duo-dev indie project. >Movement feels good in comparison to a lot of third-person indie games. >The character-design is actually appealing unlike 90% of the slop shoveled on to the Steam market. >The world is colorful and vibrant high-fantasy without looking childish and pander-y. It doesn't look like your typical 2010s/2020s "everything is dead/dying" Soulslike slop. Now, let's dig into it and talk about where to go from here, and what NEEDS improving: There needs to be more to do in the world. If there IS more to do, I wasn't able to find it after the 1 hour mark- in which case, there needs to be more guidance beyond the tutorial section. Right now, once you drop down into the "mainland" area, it's just a big open world with landmarks scattered around you that you have no context for. Blue trees, encampments (goblins), a town (goblins again) ((and functioning shopping-stalls with no NPCs)), alongside big Palworld-style towers dotted on the horizon (boss dungeons?) We need to have a hook that incentivizes us to keep playing. Right now, from what I've seen, the only incentive is to: >Bonk goblins for loot (mostly consumables like arrows / potions), >Level up your linear skill-trees (sword only has perks for up to level 3 right now, so there's not much to grind anyway), >Walk around the map clearing camps and "unlocking" trees (respawn points / fast travel points), It's just not enough to keep realistically keep people engaged for more than a couple hours- and you need to keep people engaged with the product if you want consistent feedback from your audience over the course of early-access. Some of the existing systems need tweaking. >Movement feels good, but being able to catch the edge of an object when jumping feels like it's necessary for an exploration-based open-world sandbox like this. >Combat feels good as well, but you really gotta fill-out those perk trees so that there's something to grind for. That, and you gotta work on how a character moves forward with every swing. There were a lot of frustrating cases where my character would lunge forward using the sword and suddenly the camera is spin-spin-spinning as the character slashes. I'm old and I don't have the time or energy to participate in the long-term Early Access periods anymore, but I'll be back to update this if there are major-major updates, or when the game hits 1.0. Good luck to the devs, it's a promising start.

There's still a lot to be done in the game, including optimization, but overall it's not bad. I wish the developers good luck and encouragement, and may the project continue to develop!

Nice game. It need more work on it, but definietly on the good way. If the Devteam dont abandon the game then this game can be a really shiny jewel. What am i missing: Sprint with SHIFT button Hide/Holster weapon/shield Spear weapon as 2 handed weapon(hopefully the duo devteam later add spear) More enhanced visibility and useability to the MAP. Simply i cant find my location on the map. Also harder to teleport that way, since i dont see where am i. What is that non working timer at the Right Up corner? Retrievable arrows(at least if not hitting enemy, instead hitting the environment) Oke, right now that's the primary issues/missing stuffs what i like to see soon. :)
