This game was really fun. I like how you can make a race track have 999 laps when you adjust the settings before you start playing. I hope the developer or developers of this game make another one similar to this one. I would definitely play it even if the game has achievements to unlock.
As the fourth game in the series: 5.5/10 The Developer Starts Taking His Little Toy Apart ( series order: Barro→2020→F→Racing→22→F22→GT→T23→2024→F25 ) By the time Barro Racing rolls around, things start getting a little different. We went from Barro to 2020 to F . Now, the developer seems to have had a sudden thought: “We’ve got all these different gameplay styles now. Why not just throw them all into one place?” And so Racing starts moving toward something like a small Barro platform of its own: formula, GT, Rally, Old Cars… different vehicle types and track styles begin branching out into their own distinct experiences. At this point, it becomes pretty clear that the developer isn’t just making sequels anymore. He’s experimenting with the same basic racing framework: Hey, what happens if the cars go faster? What if they go slower? What if we change the vehicles? Remove some of the jumps? Give the tracks a Rally-inspired layout ? There’s something genuinely fun about watching this process unfold. Barro never suddenly transforms into some big-budget AAA racing game. It’s still the same low-budget little racer. The difference is that the developer keeps asking himself “What else can I do with this little thing?” And just like that, Barro stops being a straight line and starts growing into a tree. ( All right, on to the fifth game: Barro 22. )
