As the first game in the series: 5.0/10 One Car, a Few Tracks, and… That’s It? ( series order: Barro→2020→F→Racing→22→F22→GT→T23→2024→F25 ) The first time you boot up Barro , one question naturally comes to mind: Is this actually a complete racing game? There’s no complicated car tuning, no dozens of buttons to memorize, and barely even the basic features you’d expect from a racing game. Steering, throttle, brakes. That’s pretty much it. But once you start driving, you realize exactly what this game is going for: tiny cars, short tracks, ridiculous ramps and jumps, and one simple rule above all else. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STAY ON THE TRACK ! You’ll get through the first corner thinking, “Wow, this is easy.” Then, by lap three, you’ll hit a tiny bump and launch yourself straight off the track. And that’s where Barro gets interesting. It doesn’t try to be a big, all-in-one racing game. Instead, it strips the genre down to its simplest form. Drive, do laps, learn the track, and try again. No fuss, no nonsense. Just pure, simple racing fun. Back in 2018, SC Jogos probably had no idea that this little game, which looked like a one-and-done novelty, would eventually grow into an entire series. But this was where the story of Barro began. And at this point, the game didn’t even have a damn handbrake yet. ( Next up: time to try the second game, Barro 2020. )
this is the Little Caesars of racing games. Is it fun? It was free Is the racing well designed? it was free were the menus competently designed by someone who has ever seen a menu page in their life? it was free Is it worth anything other than what I paid? it was free Is it good? It was free, Does it give you an entire keyboard of achievments to use to write things on your profile? HELL YES IT DOES 5/7, perfect score provided it's free
Barro is fine. It’s definitely a budget title—the physics are a bit floaty and the content is pretty thin—but for the price of a snack, it’s hard to complain too much. It’s got a weird charm to it that kept me playing longer than I intended. Don't go in expecting a life-changing experience, but it’s a functional little time-waster.
