Disclaimer: I haven't played the other Ninja Gaiden games, so I don't have that perspective. The game itself is enjoyable from a gameplay standpoint. The only flaw: the difficulty curve between minions and bosses isn't manageable. On normal difficulty, it will take some tries for an inexperienced player. The story and characters aren't bad, and I really enjoyed the clownish humor in each chapter: it's the hallmark of this spin-off. The aesthetic is distinctive, and if the game crashes when you invoke the skill menu, turn down the graphics. The camera is terrible at times. 7/10

For a game from 2014, it still holds up remarkably well. Mixed reviews likely stem from its hardware demands. I play on a Raider GE77 HX laptop, and I’ll admit I often got frustrated when the game crashed or wouldn’t launch at all. Sometimes it only worked if I reduced the frame rate from 240Hz to 60Hz or lowered the screen resolution. Still, I managed to play and earn those challenging achievements. At times, it felt like the “Hard” or “Ultra Hard” difficulty levels were designed by people who hate games (just a joke), because they were really tough—especially when the game would crash right after defeating a boss! Despite that, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Great story, thoughtful skill and weapon design, and an engaging swordplay system. The animation still impresses, and the plot twist is satisfying. That said, this game definitely deserves a remaster to maintain its former glory and continue shining. Story: 9/10 Characters: 9/10 Skills: 9/10 Graphics: 8/10 Difficulty: 9/10 Price: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

This is my first Ninja Gaiden other than one I played on the DS forever ago I do not understand the review score of this game it has the most fluid fast-paced combat I've ever experienced I love the art style it's comic book is colorful it has personality I love the humor but man is the combat so addictive and fast-paced if you like to Bayonetta you're going to love this it has the same personality as Bayonetta one

"Honour and death go together like hot sauce and my balls!" -YAIBA: Ninja Gaiden Z E3 2013 trailer. While the game's objective quality is questionable, Yaiba as a character is a good concept. He is the exact opposite of Ryu Hayabusa. An honorless disgrace of a Ninja who cares for no one but himself. He really is the Ying to Ryu's Yang, and as a character he has a lot of potential, if he ever returned in a true Ninja Gaiden game, instead of this low budget wanna be God of War kind of game. It's far from perfect, but it's an interesting experience. Go in with tempered expectations, but I'd say the over all game is worth playing for Curiosity's sake.

its... fine? The game is a serviceable hack n slash from days of old. Stylistically, its great, the story is just there. I only played on hard and the difficulty seems perfect (I play games welcoming death to learn and exploit patterns, so im sure if you just wanna mash buttons there is a difficulty for you, since hard is manageable). My main issue is the load times. A game this old should not have 40 second load times just to reload a room that you died in. Which makes death incredibly punishing and more annoying than fun. its a solid 6/10 ignoring that issue, but for my tastes, i couldnt finish the game, because dying felt so bad, and easier modes wouldnt punish me for poor play. But since it is competently made and can be found for like 3 bucks, i can still recommend it. Its not poorly designed. Just poorly made. And there can be space for that with some gamers
