Take F1 Through The Decades! New Star GP is a fast and exciting arcade motorsport game with crisp retro visuals. Play career mode and work your way through decades of racing while upgrading your car and your support team... or chase high scores in championship mode on your own or in split-screen with up to three friends! [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ATReviews]Follow My Review Group Here! 💾Graphics - This game offers more vibrant, arcade style visuals. To me, I really liked it! This makes the game look simple, but really sharp and with amazing vibrant colors. The HUD looks incredibly simple and gives all the needed info without cluttering the screen. The UI in the other menus throughout the game look great! The tracks are stunning and look nicely detailed. The game looks great! It’s not visually ground breaking, and it doesn’t have to be. Overall it’s really sharp, vibrant, and has an amazing simple art style. 🎮Gameplay - New Star GP has surprisingly good gameplay! You have 3 game modes. Career mode, championship mode, and hot lap. Career mode is good fun. You start in the 1980’s and after you complete a championship, you go up another 10 years to the 1990’s and that continues until the 2020’s. You have team management like in the mainline F1 games, and you can even customize your character and F1 car (although very minor customization). You also have to upgrade your F1 car so you can keep up with your rivals through the championship. Championship mode is also good fun. You can play with friends, or against AI bots. You can choose any year of F1 cars and create your own championship with any tracks of your liking, or pick a preset championship. And then you have Hot Lap mode which is simple, just put out the best time and beat other people’s times. There are some really cool mechanics too like pitstops, tire changes and tire wear, and fuel consumption. You also have weather changes in the middle of the race which can add important strategies to win a race. My biggest complaint is the slipstream effect being a perk, which is really silly. Also the AI can be a bit weird at times. Like they sometimes slow down in corners or get in your way on the straights during qualifying. 🕛Playtime - This game can offer up to 15+ hours to complete, maybe more. You also can create your own championship against other players, or AI. I do wish the game had more track variety or even mod support, but for what’s in the game, you will have a decent amount of playtime. 🎧Sound - Sound design is okay. It’s nothing crazy or really worth mentioning. The F1 cars don’t really sound that different which is a big shame. It is cool to hear the crowds cheer as you pass by them at over 150+ MPH. The music does sound really good though! It’s upbeat and has a great arcade beat to it. ❗Bugs❗- I haven’t really encountered any bugs from this game. It ran really smoothly in terms of bugs and had no problems. You should have no problems with bugs. 🔅Performance - The game runs so perfectly! I was maxing out my framerate (240fps), and I was getting no stutters, frame drops, or crashes. I believe this game can run on any computer out there. It’s incredibly optimized. ✔️Pro’s✔️ [*]Optimized for any computer [*]Cool different camera angles [*]Vehicle damage and tire wear [*]Weather changes & Pit Strategy [*]Team management & car upgrades [*]Create your own championship [*]F1 cars from the 80’s up to the modern day [*]Character customization (although simple) ❌Con’s❌ [*]Could use more tracks [*]Slipstream is a perk (really!?) [*]AI can be a bit unpredictable at times 🏆Rating - 9/10 This game is easily worth the full price! Support these developers and buy it at full price. They earned it. 🔗Conclusion - New Star GP is a fantastic racing game! The game runs incredible, looks sharp, and has many cool F1 cars from the years that feel different from each other. My biggest complaint is just the lack of track variety, especially with the 50 years of F1 history. Yes the cars and tracks are fictional, but they fit closely to the real life counterparts. If you have a Steam Deck or just looking for a fun simple F1 game, then this is a must buy! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2217580/New_Star_GP/

That are two very important things missing (imo): 1. Penalties- the AI is dirty AF and can crash into your car or make you spin without any consequences whatsoever. Add to that the fact the you can't restart races unless you get lucky and unlock that feature and sometimes it's really frustrating. 2. Qualifying - do I even have to explain? Despite that, the game is fun and I'm enjoying it.

I'm a sucker for racing homage games and New Star GP is no different. It's arcadey and fun. You can play it in short bursts - the longest races are six laps and many segments are shorter. No trying to imitate Forza or GT here - just quick sessions, get in and get out. In Career Mode, you get to work through four different decades (each increasing in speed/difficulty) and upgrade your car and crew. Tracks are anagrammatic of real-world F1 destinations and fans will see many familiar turns. The career progression is fair and not laborious. The low poly models are fun and not a drag on the eyes. I have some minor gripes with the AI but I've still had a blast working my way through the seasons. Split screen multi holds up pretty well also. All in all, if you like arcade racers this is will be a fun stop for you.

Excellent light/casual racing game. Perfect for those of us old guys who have a soft spot for the polygon graphics. Easy at first, but it definitely tests you later. The team management adds flavour. You don't need a wheel or pedals, you don't need to spend time setting all your wings and ride height, just pick a strategy and go. In short, VERY FUN.

This game is really fun! As someone who's recently really gotten into Formula 1, this game does a really good job of making an arcadey version of the F1 season experience. The handling is snappy and responsive, but has just enough realism for nuance. The sense of speed is great, especially in the first person cockpit mode, and strategy around pit stops is quite satisfying, though I do feel that overcutting is generally a lot stronger than undercutting. Nevertheless, it's pretty satisfying to pull off, especially when a race is tight. Managing relationships with other drivers and your team adds a neat off-track strategic wrinkle as well. The approximations of the various real world circuits in the game are quite fun to drive on (although I kinda wish this game's version of Spa didn't force you to brake on the Eau Rouge), and the references to real world F1 history through the legally distinct drivers definitely gets a chuckle out of me. I do wish there was online multiplayer though, and even though it might not work, a 20 driver mode with teammates, more laps per race, and adjusted tire wear, part wear, and fuel usage would be cool too. Overall a really solid arcade version of Formula 1.
