⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Best Visual Novels I've Played I don't hand out 5/5 reviews very often, but Blood Money: Lethal Eden earned every single star. My first playthrough? I thought I was making all the right decisions... I couldn't have been more wrong. If you somehow get the perfect ending on your very first run, you're either cheating or you've experienced a game like this before. 😉 What makes this game so special is the freedom. There are so many choices, so many different routes, and every decision feels important. Yet, despite all those possibilities, there's only one perfect ending. Reaching it was incredibly satisfying. The story had me hooked from beginning to end. The acting was excellent, the characters felt alive, and the writing did exactly what great writing should do—it made me care. And Mr. Bai? I hated that man so much I wanted to kill him with my own hands instead of letting him go out because of some cheap poison. If a game can make me feel that strongly about a character, it's doing something right. Visually, the game is stunning. The dark atmosphere pulls you in and never lets go. It feels tense, immersive, and unforgettable. Is it perfect? No. I noticed a few scene freezes, some translation mistakes, and a handful of voice lines could have been recorded better. Did any of that stop me from loving this game? Absolutely not. When a story keeps you thinking long after the credits roll, you've found something special. If you're a fan of visual novels, mystery, or choice-driven stories, do yourself a favor: Buy it. Play it. Get lost in it. This is a game you'll remember long after you've finished it.
Finally giving the game my review. If reviews are very positive, honestly, I think it should even be Overwhelmingly Positive instead. This is one of the best FMV releases this year. The survival system, the conditions per path, the cast, the acting, the plot, the setting, the music, they all fit the vib and jive really well together. Everything feels well-polished and not rushed at all. Great thoughts came into play when this game was made. Absolute cinema! EDIT: Finally achieved 100% <3 thanks to the devs, cast and the whole team!
I absolutely love this fmv. The premise is unique in that it hasn't been done before and it is realistic. The acting was very good, quite a couple big names in here, and English translation had minimal errors. I love the challenge of getting all the different scenes and dialogues. I'm looking forward to future releases from this developer!
One more FMV that amazed me of how far this genre has involved, from casual dating to stats, items mechanic. The stats mechanic is the most unique thing I see so far. One thing that's very creative is they allow you to look left, look right, do other stuff if the dialogue is long. Cast is perfect for their role.
