Delightful deduction game. In many ways it feels like a mix between Hypnospace Outlaw (in form, if not setting) and No Case Should Remain Unsolved (in the way you do deduction). You solve mysteries by browsing the in-universe equivalent of Twitter (Parotter). The setting is near future and we are presented slices of an internet with it's own memes, slang and culture. It feels surprisingly organic even if we are presented only curated selection of posts (as chosen by our two AI helpers according to the topic we are currently researching). By the end some of the phrases and concepts have become recognizable and familiar for me, to the point it feels weird to consider they are fictional slang and memes and not a thing in the actual internet. Core of the gameplay involves first identifying which accounts belong to who (everyone has a public account and an anonymous secondary account) and then figuring out further facts from what we've read and seen. This is a process we repeat in new contexts as we delve deeper into the overarching case. The deductions generally make sense (though might involve some assumptions and 'soft' clues) and if you get stuck both hints and brute-forcing are an option. A neat touch is that after a deduction is made the MC tends to comment on how it could be made, so even if you just get lucky you will at least learn how you were supposed to figure it out. The finale and ending is satisfying, both in it's resolution and in the fact you could figure most of it ahead of time if you paid attention. It also resolved things I didn't even expect to have a resolution, but I can't go into that without heavy spoilers.
A delightful little mystery/deduction game with great flavor and an ending that really brings it all together in a fascinating, satisfying way. If you're someone who enjoys the mystery + pseudo-physics vibes of something like the Zero Escape series, Steins;Gate, Somnium Files, etc. and you're down for some light deduction gameplay, I think you'll really enjoy this.
Only finished the first chapter and I know I have to recommend this game You play as a cyber detective solving a mysterious crime case through exploring Twitte- Parrotter accounts. Finding keywords, connecting main and sub accounts of people, deducting motives, and connecting all the information you got to solve the mystery All of these play through the protagonist's PC screen I love how the game doesn't hold your hands in any bit. It just gives you some tutorials and let you try your hands on the game yourself, and the game's actually pretty challenging. It took me more than an hour to go through the first section of the game Edit: This game is one of the masterpieces I'd recommend everyone to try at least once. I will now sing praises for this game for another 5 years or more
