I enjoyed *Dice with Death*, but after about 14 hours, I’d pretty much finished the game. I’m not interested in PvP, otherwise I could have kept playing for a while longer. I really liked the dialogues because they were funny and had a slight philosophical touch. Unfortunately, the game lacks long-term appeal for me.

This game shows a lot of promise, but for me it feels small. I cleared stage 1 in one go, and I think I understand what I’m doing even though the game doesn’t always clearly explain what that actually is. That lack of clarity stands out early. The core idea is strong. It’s a dice-building roguelike where you stack combos using dice and relics, pushing your luck to scale damage. That part works it’s fun, and like most dice systems, it’s inherently satisfying. But here’s the issue for me: I saw the full loop in the first stage. Yes, there are more dice, relics, and now multiple characters (including the Adventurer added at 1.0), all offering different combinations and builds. But the underlying structure doesn’t meaningfully evolve. You’re still doing the same thing: assembling synergies and scaling numbers within the same framework. So continuing doesn’t feel like discovery it feels like repetition. And that’s where it loses me. There is content. Multiple characters, unlockable relics, and build variety are clearly there. But more combinations inside the same loop isn’t the same as deeper gameplay. If the loop reveals itself immediately, then expanding it sideways just feels like more of the same. To be clear: this is a good game. The mechanics are solid, the concept works, and the system has real potential. But for me, once I understood the loop, there wasn’t enough evolution to keep me engaged. Conclusion: A strong and enjoyable core system, but one that shows all its cards too early. One more thing. The price is too high.

Very pleased. I have a personal genre of games I call "after hours." These are games I enjoy after work when I'm a bit too taxed out for things that are extremely complex or that take hours to do, but still want a challenge to help my mind switch from work-mode to recreation. I'm usually a bit leery of games of chance vs. computers, but Death levels with you from the start that it's going to cheat and gives you the tools to level the playing field if you're clever. I'm also a sucker for pixel art so that's swell, too.

Great game, I'm enjoying it a lot. Couple of points for feedback for the devs (I mean this constructively): - The game absolutely needs a "banish" mechanic for bad relics. Every time I unlock a new relic that's not super good all I can think of is "damn, now my chances of getting XXX relic are reduced forever, I'd rather not have unlocked this at all", it feels terrible. Games like Loop Hero or Vampire Survivors fix this by allowing you to banish trash you don't want. - On the later rounds of each run, once Death has her 2 lucky dice, guaranteed perfect bank, etc, her turns take too long. Even at x2 speed its annoying. Its cool to see the animations on your own dice, but maybe we could have an option to disable them on Deaths turn? Or a general "skip animations" button? - I do not understand the Healer. Is it supposed to be impossible to tell how her ability works? If its not meant to be obscure on purpose, please add an explanation of how the cauldron effects are determined. - 4 of a kind + Pair is not a hand? From what I've found online it should be, but it seems people cannot agree. It'd be cool if it was, I hate getting it and not be able to do a "perfect bank" because of it.

I would NOT recommend buying this game right now. The premise and design of the game is great, but the content is not deep enough yet. The strategic depth is definitely lacking right now. That being said, I'm giving this a positive review because I don't think the devs deserve to be punished for the current game state (even if I don't recommend buying right now), and because I think the game has a ton of potential to become good.
