Shows a lot of promise. Making a build where you can just do crazy ♥♥♥♥ is really fun. Devs are actively working on the game and rebalancing based on feedback, enemies aren't overtuned now like they were at launch. There's a lot of variety and later enemy abilities make you think about your actions a lot more, you can use many of them to your advantage if you know what you're doing. I like how items unlock based on your in-game accomplishments, it makes even failed runs feel worthwhile but none of the unlocks are too grindy. This could become something great, but even in its current state I'd say it's worth ten bucks for sure.

The Early Access launch version felt a lot worse than the demo's balance. I almost came here to give it a bad review, but gave it a day or two. Lucky I did, as the new patch feels a lot better now!

I'm enjoying the full version of this game very much. It's tough, yes, but never so much that it makes me feel powerless. The game mechanics are great and make you feel like you're playing a roguelike board game with real dice. There are some rough edges and a few bugs, for sure, but this is an Early Access game, and the developers are upfront about that. I, for one, enjoy games that don't pull punches on me as long as they feel fair, which is the case here. And, honestly, I'm sick and tired of games that bend over backwards trying to make players feel powerful regardless of their skill level, with meta-progression and all that stuff—and still claim to be roguelikes! Fingers crossed that the Die for the Lich devs stick to their vision and keep letting me fight the whims of fair RNG without safety nets or handholding.

Horribly unbalanced. I loved the demo. The early access release not so much. Needs a lot of work.

When I commented on discord after the demo on steam released that I could not play due to my PC being outdated I was contacted by a moderator who then informed the devs of my issue, and shortly after that a new version released that allowed me to play the game on my older laptop. Outside of this game being incredibly entertaining the dev team is super helpful and friendly, this is still something that I think about that makes me smile because this is at this moment pretty much one of my favourite games, and if they didn't listen I wouldn't be able to write this review today or play the game.
