*** Update (1.1.4) has made the rescue endings less RNG heavy by guaranteeing the rescue chance encounter after you successfully signal the ship/plane and survive a certain amount of days. This came in super clutch and allowed me to beat Drowning difficulty. It has also made fishing junk more useful and worthwhile as a last resort food or for a certain night event. Overall, a lot more fun to play now but I really hope the other endings also get easier to get.*** This game is pretty awesome for the price if you loved the 60 Seconds game and wanted a more nautical experience. I really enjoy the gathering phase in the beginning of each run because they give you ample time to scout out any useful items before you need to evacuate. The main gameplay loop is when you're drifting off at sea and trying to not starve while facing many random events. As much as I love how fun the game can be on your first playthrough, going for any other endings where you don't die will be extremely difficult. As of version 1.13, the game is heavily RNG dependent to a point where most runs will end in you dying of starvation due to not encountering the right events in time. Even your crewmate's help is at a whim and I feel like the Scuba Suit is pretty much not worth using at all. I think this game really needs some meta progression or something to help put more events in your favor if you do go for a certain ending. Otherwise, it really does feel like complete RNG with the events which is still fun to encounter, it just makes getting a specific ending more annoying to get.
I watched CaptainSauce play it and it was rather a fun experience playing it on my own! the only issue I've had was the performance on my low end laptop wasn't the best, but given the point and click style of gameplay this has it didn't impact the experience too much overall: pretty nice! has quite a few unique interactions, and even when you somehow run out of everything, you can still look forward to catching something new if you're lucky enough
