I absolutely loved Enotria: The Last Song! The graphics are mesmerizingly beautiful, and I especially loved the enemy designs, the masks, the weapons and all the little details in the world. Everything feels so intricate and unique. Also you can get more lore through grinding, something I really liked, because it took away the from the sheer repetivness grinding has for me personally. I also really enjoyed the lore. There is so much depth to it, and I liked that the game gives you the feeling that there is always more to discover if you actually take your time with the story and the world. Something I personally really appreciated are the two difficulty options. One is much more approachable and, for me, was perfect for being able to focus on the story and the lore. The other is a proper Souls-like difficulty, and it is really challenging. So I think both people who mainly want to experience the story and people who want a hard game can find something here. I only have a few small criticisms. I don't really understand why the graphics settings cannot be changed in the game menu. Everything starts on Ultra, and you have to change the settings in the .ini file instead. I can imagine that this might scare some people away, especially if they don't know how to edit an .ini file or ain't able to look for it. And there are a few things that made me feel like something is missing. You can see the huge volcano island throughout the game, but you never actually get there. And Columbina is introduced in the beginning, but I never encountered her during the game. I don't know if these were planned for something that didn't make it into the final game, but I would absolutely love to see more of them in a DLC or a second part. Because honestly, I would love a DLC or a sequel. This world is just too beautiful and interesting to end here!
Nowhere near as bad as people say, but not a great game either. It's a perfectly good 7, good enough to scratch that soulslike itch you get every once in a while but not much else. The story/characters are okay, graphics are okay, and performance is good. Combat is mostly parry-oriented with some dodging; no blocking, though, which sucks. Due to how generous the parry windows are, the game is quite easy. Aside from a couple of bosses (Giangurgolo...), this is a pretty easy game overall, a nice intro into the world of soulslikes. SCORE: 7/10.
THIS IS A SOULS-LIKE Made by an Italian studio. I am most impressed and happy with this. ✅✅✅ It follows the genre. The concept is great (masks) and has depth. It's played in 3rd person view. As you and I are able to visualize (Italian-Da Vinci), the game looks really nice. This is a UE (unreal engine) game. I remain very impressed how the DEVELOPERS have managed to keep the install size to this minimum. It has effectively raised my eyebrow against the other DEVELOPERS that haven't done this. (reduced install size) This FULL GAME is under 20 gigabytes as-of-writing this review. If you enjoyed SOULS-LIKE, [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1501750/Lords_of_the_Fallen/]Lords-of-The-Fallen (2023) or even DARK SOULS 3, Elden Ring, hopefully you find this is along your lane. Recommended for fans of the souls-like genre. Enotria has some beautiful vistas and unique character designs. The Spaventa boss fight was my favorite thing in the whole game. This game has so many build options. It felt like it threw too many abilities and items at me too fast, which was overwhelming. I eventually just picked my go-to abilities/weapons and didn't experiment, but it's to Enotria's credit that they give you plenty of options and make it easy to try them out without having to respec your whole character. My experience was held back by performance issues. I lowered all the graphics I could, plus I lowered the resolution. It helped a lot, but there were still one or two spots where my framerate was sub-20. It was annoying but I still go to the end credits. My PC is over 6 years old at this point, so I bet something more up to date would be okay. I'm generally warm on Enotria and I will be keeping an eye out for their next game. Edit: Upgraded my GPU to Nvidia 4060. Played maybe 10 minutes to test it and the game runs much smoother and on much higher settings.
