70 years old and this is my first game. Still building hand eye coordination, but WASD is a new concept for me.

After nearly 1000 hours, 700 of which were during early access, I can confidently say this is one of the best factory games ever created. In an age where factory games are becoming more and more common, this one still stands out above the others. It is challenging enough to stimulate your brain, while also managing to be a laid back gaming experience that you can play with or without sound. I frequently play while listening to music, an audiobook, or youtube. Family gamers rejoice! This game is easy to save and quit at any time. Baby shat the diaper? Toddler fell on her face? Teenager giving your beloved an attitude? Save, quit, and manage the chaos in moments.

Well stick a fork in me, I'm done. Satisfactory is one of the greatest video games I have ever played. Do not be misled by the tags, this at its core is not a game about base building or crafting. The heart of this game lies around planning, logistics, critical thinking, and exploration. Any yahoo can build a base or craft a series of objects. But designing an entire complex with various purposes and requirements that all function efficiently AND looks good? Now thats a task worthy of doing right. This game is so free and relaxed it lets you do everything at your own pace. You wanna hand craft 10000 computers? Go ahead the game wont stop you. Its just obviously more efficient to automate that. And thats what this game is so good at making the choice between easier and more efficient be two different answers. Usually games fall into the trap of dominant strategy. One particular gun or mechanic is too powerful for its own good so the player just uses that. It makes things easier and more efficient because there's no switching around weapons or messing about with learning different ways to tackle things. Satisfactory on the other hand makes it very clear. Its easy to make things by hand but it takes FOREVER, so the player in this manner is encouraged to engage with the systems and then are rewarded for doing so. Thinking: Man this is taking forever F this Ima make a factory and then being rewarded for choosing to do the more complex action is peak game design. Its like crack, i cant stop playing it. And the game is a master of respecting your time. Only have 10 minuets? Run around and grab some collectibles and explore? Clean up or dress up previously completed factories. Have 5 hours? Lets flush it down the toilet with a Heavy Modular Frames factories first floor. Any time you play you are making progress. And the game is so no pressure, resources never run out, dying drops your stuff on the ground but you can easily recover it. This means that the games atmosphere is super relaxed and fun. Giving you total freedom to reap this worlds resources for Weylan- I mean Ficsit. Briefly let me touch that the nuts and bolts of the actual gameplay are pretty tits. Id equate it to titanfall or Cod with regards to how snappy and crisp all the movement and gunplay mechanics are in this "factory building game" What else?: Great music, great QoL, awesome developers, Hilarious Douglas Adams esque dialogue in the story bits. 10/10 Thank you Coffee Stain please never make a game like this again I have things to do.

The game gives you a beautiful alien planet and basically tells you to build an Amazon warehouse over it.

It has been a genuine treat to have followed the progress of this game all the way up to it's official 1.0 launch. Every updates that has been made for Satisfactory was exciting and acclaimed by it's wonderful community. CoffeeStain always knows how to deliver on their games, and besides GhostShip games, there is no other studio that I would trust more than these fine individuals, legendary dev team. I've been a fan of their work since Sanctum in...2011.... Satisfactory is their biggest and most ambitious project they have worked on so far, and it shows! I can honestly call this one of my favourite games without hesitation. It's a fun and approachable title to the factory and automation genre that increases in complexity as you go through all it's phases with many gadgets to tinker around and play with. A gem to be sure. I am looking forward playing it for another hundreds of hours more!
