Dec. 2025
This is by far one the best "Tales of" series that Bandai Studios has developed. Taking previous games blueprints and maxing it out to it's upmost potential for it time. With a good and compelling story, a mixed cast of characters that feel real, fluid and engaging gameplay mechanics and a whole lot of color on screen. Story- I'd say the plot is pretty good. It keeps to the standard route of any story, people are oppressed to the point where someone wants to do something about it and so forth. But what makes it good is the cast of characters you find along the way. Each with their own reasons of why they are there, and the further you go the more you start to see that there are layers inbetween. With the characters themselves changing as you progress. I will say, there's "TONS" of cutscenes, filled with fully voiced dialog. Made me feel like I was just watching an anime series. Gameplay: Combat- The combat in this game is fluid and very much so anime-flashy. Each move you do feels powerful and gives weight behind it. This game offers a lot of variety to playstyles with each character having their own strengths and weaknesses. Whether you like striking from afar, or throwing big and quick damage, or even going toe-to-toe with an enemy, this game has it. You can also switch between each party member in real-time during combat to fit the situation of battle. I'll admit, once you get use to the combat and how each character plays, it'll feel and look cinematic. Gameplay: Crafting- There's also crafting and fishing. You craft accessories and weapons using materials you pick up as you play the game. Whether it be from the enemies you defeat or something you pickup from exploring. The accessories you build can be tailored to however you prefer to play each character to a point where they can be nearly OP. Fishing is more like a mini-game, but is just as important as crafting because you use the fish to cook the meals for buffs. Music- The music is solid. Matching every moment and place you are in. It captures the scene and make you feel like you are part of the game world. At least for me it does. Graphics- Super colorful. One of the best anime-game graphics I've seen so far. Especially with how big the maps are in this game. But it really does shine when you're in combat. And the way they did these cutscenes was pretty creative. Almost manga-like, with motion. There are also the normal cutscenes with in-game models. Which some of have really good camera work to keep you engaged. DLC- The only ones worth getting are the costume packs because they also come with a few in-game upgrades. The music pack is good if you want more variety to the game soundtrack or if you're a Tales series fan. The expansion isn't as good as the main game, it feels more like a side quest than anything else. Overall: If you're looking for an game with a good story, an excellent cast of characters, a solid combat system with a decent amount of customization, this is a pick for you. Especially for anime lovers looking for a new series.

Tales of Arise is an RPG game se in Dahna, I initially dropped it because it felt slow and confusing, but then decided to give it another try, and I'm glad I did because this game is awesome. I love the combat system, the arts, the combos you can perform with your allies, the artstyle and the soundtrack, it's all on point, and the story too. It's not too easy but neither too difficult; it depends on you, because before fighting a boss you need to organize your team. I recommend this game to everyone because I find it awesome.
