I started playing the demo of this game just over a year ago and got close to 400 hours playing, testing and bug hunting the demo. It is an understatement to say I'm hooked, here's why: There's are only 2 Devs making this game, 1 Lead developer and 1 level designer who are committed to making their passion project. You can see their passion in how much they've achieved in the 3 years they have been working on this game, with no funding, they used their own savings to get to EA. They are very open and involved on their Discord server, read EVERYTHING and (god knows how they do it) manage to usually not only respond to pretty much everything in there but take action on it too. We've seen countless moments where I bug was reported and got fixed in the GIT in under an hour, ready to be launched at the next hotfix (which are very often) You can make suggestions for the game on their Discord, and often, if well worded and a good add to the game, get implemented the same day, rdy to be tested/used at the next update. Other suggestion may not find their way into the game immediately, but they keep track of everything. Before we go on, let me remind everyone, that it is Early Access (only just since the 24th of October 2025) and for all the immediate Nay-sayers and haters out there, you might wanna Re-Google, what that actually means. Due to there only being 2 devs right now, the character is basic, it's movements and animations simple and perhaps somewhat clunky, but that's polishing and modelling stuff that needs a lot of time and funding, which they simply didn't have yet. Please see through that when you come here to try out the game for what it could be, not what it should be to you right now, expecting a full blown, fully polished, flawless game, it takes time. When you ARE able to see passed that, you will discover how in depth this game goes, the crazy stuff you can do, how well thought of so many features are already, even-though not prefect. The game in it's current state is exciting, fun, challenging, surprising, amazing, has lots of (aimed) realism and immersion. And yes, all of the above can be better and will get better. Don't expect a baby that is just born, to run the 100m in under 10 seconds, talk fluently in 4 languages, have a working career already... they need to learn and grow. And that is what this project is, a learning and growing project for both the devs and their playerbase, and what I got from playing this for almost 400 hrs and spending countless hours in the Discord is this: We are in this together! I've never been this enthusiastic in my entire 40+ year gaming experience about a new upcoming game as I am about Vein. You can very actively get in involved in shaping the future of this game, but it is not going to happen by itself nor overnight. This devs team gets it, this is how to build a game and listen to your players, be open and involved. They have achieved more with no funding at all, during a Demo time then many AAA studios with multi million funding and dozens if not hundreds of devs have achieved in a decade. So in short, yes! Absolutely worth to buy and try, Very highly recommended!

Project Zomboid but first person! I have been a huge follower of this game for a long time now, and this game is absolutely worth following and playing. Ive played the demo for 296 hours and had an absolute blast. The level of customization for the game is perfect. Sometimes I want to play more of a walking dead style, (all walking zombies) and other times Im in the mood for 28 days later style zombies.... and you can DO IT! Change the world config to have only walkers, only runners, or a mix of both.

I've only played the demo long enough to do this review, just recently bought the game as it launched today. I know I know, not played enough of it to do this, right? Well, Just going off the demo time I played previously alone and starting my character NOW (at least) in the EA launch and saving (i have other things to do) I can assure you, supporting these dev's will be worth it. The game has a great thing going. If you like Project zomboid but wanted a 3D version of that? This is it (so far) They communicate almost weekly or daily with lots of updates and they're very invested in making this what WE want as well as themselves, of course. The game is pretty complex for what it is so far. It will keep you busy a while. The systems available are far more than 90% of survival games out there and this isn't even a 1.0 launch, think about that for a minute. Bottom line, if you like survival, variety in abilities and things to tinker with like PZ has, Want a pretty stable co-op experience this early on & just want to have something to sink time into thats of this genre, this is it. For a team of 2, they're really going places with this one!

This game is first person Project Zomboid. Still early alpha and has bugs and is a bit jank. But has a high level of interaction and sandbox gameplay. Super stoked to see the future of this game.

Absolutely stellar realistic zombie survival. If Project Zomboid was 3D, it would look a lot like this. Proper development cycles and communication. VEIN will be one of the great survival titles that stand the test of time. There is SO MUCH more in the works and plans for this game and I cant wait to see how far it goes.
